Part two of a Belgian Tuesday. Deciding to drink down the cellar a little bit (granted, I added a 4-pack of 2013 Ten-FIDY to it today, so.....). A friend's wife saw a pick of my cellar, and asked him, "Hey, that looks awesome; can we go to that store?"

    .....without any sarcasm at all.

So yeah, drinking down the cellar. It's a losing battle, but every time I kill a beer down there, I win! :flushed:

Damn, it's been a long time since I've had this beer. Too long; it's my favorite quad! I think this one has about 2 years on it; too lazy to look it up, though. I killed the yeast from the bottle. It's good for ya!

    Jamming!

    Cheers, BAs!

This is one of my favorites, so I had to crack it tonight. I'm not trying to gain your sympathy or anything like that, but I just got back from a beautiful, but sad, service celebrating the life of my former supervisor. She was an amazing boss, a better mentor, and a great friend who lost her fight to pancreatic cancer. She was very private and would hate that I posted something about her, but I hope this is a reminder to all of you out there to tell your loved ones how much you care about them. Life is short and unfair, but it can also be beautiful. Enjoy it and the people you share it with. What you share with the world is what it keeps of you. Cheers.

The perfect summer beer! An old favorite for me.

I feel like I've dodged 2 bullets in less than a month. I'm far from 100% but I'm ecstatic that I'm back at work and feeling a little normal for the first time in a minute. Cheers, indeed!

Darn auto-correct. That would be "summer".

Ha! Didn't know Bulleit was a real bourbon. Saw Stallone's character carrying it around in his flick, Bullet To The Head.
Now I'll have to try it...

Sure, you're right; BA defines a Maibock or Hellesbock as being between 5.7% and 8.0%. That puts Yonder Bock, at 7.7%, right at the top of that range.

But, what I said rather poorly, was that I don't so much think it's out of style, ABV-wise; more of a feel. It comes across very light, drinkable, kind of fruity; not dissimilar to a Hellesbock clocking in around 6%. The 7.7% just feels too heavy for this beer, not for the style overall. At least, that's how the beer came across to me; it was still pretty tasty, but ultimately right around the middle of the Beer Camp for me, overall.

    Cheers!

I'm a little obsessed with this beer, maybe my favorite Beachwood yet. Might even be Alpine level.

I stopped at Troegs today and had Hop Knife on tap, super good and tasty-juicy like Nugget Nectar.

Grabbed a couple of mixed sixers and some bombers on the way home. I having this one now:

OK - Science update. Do NOT, under any circumstance (unless life threatening) mix a RYE with a pumpkin beer. NOT GOOD. Going with a wheat next.

    Results forthcoming...
