Me too I can't tell you how many generous BA's I have met as well. (that's just makes me want to smile a little )

The " Guy who knows" Brewers, reps or employees that chime in with full explanations on why such and such is the way it is. Usually answering any and all questions in a single post.

The " All around great BA" These are the names you look for in your likes. The BA's who are active in a lot of threads and always have something worthwhile to say or a pertinent suggestion. Who don't always post the biggest and best beers in NBS or WBAYDN but always have something insightful to say about what they are drinking. Who post quality pics and music. Who in general are all around, well great. I can think of quite a few of these off the top of my head.

I know I've posted several times in this thread already but I came back to basically echo that first one - Mr. Works at a Wholesaler and Therefore Knows Everything - I mention this because I totally used to be this guy until I realized I was wrong about all kinds of stuff. Other things should often just be kept to ones self (I've struggled with that last bit my whole life).

 

The "that beer is terrible, send it to me for proper disposal" joke BA.

 

I won't say a beer sucks, as to each their own. If somebody wants to drink Coors Light Summer Beer and like it, enjoy!

I have no reviews here because I started reviewing elsewhere and don't want to move all of those reviews over. The forums here are great.

 

Then there's the exact opposite BA. The ones that never drink anything local because it's too pedestrian and too easy to get...and of course can never be as good as the stuff on the way from FedEx. If it isn't a pain in the ass to get, it's not worthwhile.

 

How about all the "beer X is overrated because it's not my favorite." Whenever I hear that being thrown out, especially concerning PtE, I cringe. You don't have to love every well regarded beer out there, but going on and arrogantly assuming that your contrarian position is the right one and the consensus one is obviously wrong, misled, duped, and wasting their time is something that really bugs me. My girlfriend does this all the time and I always start ranting immediately.

 

The "Do you really want to hurt me?" BA.

He will state 'I don't care what other people say. I actually like a Carona that is trying to deep throat a lemon.'

 

The disrespect macro BA. At any chance he will put the boot into macro beer.

 

The IWontDrinkBourbonCountyBecauseGooseIslandSoldOut BA.

I wonder how many of these will stay away from BC when Vanilla Rye comes out.

 

One-Note Sarcastic Guy. Jumps into threads with a minor variation of the same well-worn sarcastic comment for months, even years.

The "Pliny the Elder is way overrated" guy.

The "You just haven't tried Pliny fresh enough" guy. (me)

The I need to convert everyone to drink my kind of beer guy. AKA- A friend tried Blue Moon and now he knows beer can be different than BMC I gave him a highly rated hop bomb and didn't like it, why doesn't he like this highly rated beer, guy.

 

The Brewery Hater: Hates that one brewery so much that he takes personal offense to people who like it. Reliably shows up in any thread regarding that brewery to remind everyone how much he hates them.

I too had been skeptical that this was a thing, then I had an all-citra beer from a mediocre brewpub. It's there.

 

The Microbrew BA - The guy that's been into craft beer for years but just joined BA and caught the bug which caused him to empty his life savings into the "new" beers.
