Favorite or Classic BA personalities

AKA the "my-sense-of-self-worth-depends-on-my-posts-to-likes-ratio" BA

 

The Reluctant to Post BA...I typed and deleted this post several times because I thought A.) This wouldn't be interesting. B.) Has been said before.

 

Or, my-posts-to likes-ratio depends on my sense of sobriety...

 

That was definitely me when I started. But then I realized that you guys were all assholes.

The "I will never admit to liking any BMC beer" BA.

The "Apologizes to other BA's in advance for liking a BMC or not-so-great microbrew beer" BA.

The "BA's only like IPA's or super hoppy beers" BA.

 

I thought that I was a part of that "here, have this beer" group...

I do this one a lot but its mostly just so I don't have to type their full name a bunch of times. Like during the New Glarus Wild Peach release I spoke to Dan Carey a few times over those three days. Then in the great lakes thread I was reporting back info I got from Dan and had to use his name multiple times hard not to just shorten it to Dan.

Also not trying antagonize you but how many brewers have you met that make you call them Mr.? Every brewer I've ever met goes by their first name even when it was our first and only time meeting. I see where your coming from it seems like your implying a non existen friendship but not everything is what it seems.

 

The "EBSs have so much more flavor" guy.

 

The "I drink what I like and you should drink what you like!" BA.

This BA is the world's most senior captain obvious. S/he chimes into every single thread and and says "Drink what you want like me!" or "I don't care about hype, I listen to my taste buds." While no one doubts this person drinks what they enjoy, it's hard not to laugh at her/his comments. The OP of the thread isn't looking for advice on how to live. They're usually posing a benign question that doesn't insinuate in any way that they don't drink what they enjoy, yet the comment comes anyways. The OP is usually just looking to start a little conversation on something that interests them. Let me give you an example:

OP: "I've been hearing a lot about Hopslam and I'd like to try it. However, when I got to my local bottle shop I saw a sixer of it that was seven weeks old and right next to it was a sixer of fresh Two Hearted. I went with the Two Hearted, but I can't help feeling that I missed on something special."

BA: "It must suck to have to buy beer based on whatever everyone else thinks. I drink what I want, when I want. You should try it, but it might be uncomfortable at first."

This BA is looking for a reason to show everyone that they are cool and don't care. The irony is that their avatar is a picture of a Heady can and their location is Montana.

 

Don't forget horse blanket and cat piss!

 

The guy who says hes a "beer snob" and then goes on about how good Red Hook and Fat Tire are.
