Man, Im not calling you names, be an adult. Have a discussion without calling people moron's or stupid. My statements are just as valid as yours. I have read the material. I have my opinions. I have a PhD in economics. I choose not to drink this beer. I made my statements, but please don't result to childlike name calling. If you are an adult, get over it. If you are a child, you need not be on here this late. Go to bed!

its still a large brewery from another country taking over a smaller brewery. I did not say they were equal but the principal is essentially the same.

it's more disrespectful to publicly state falsehood that you know you "just think is how it must be" than to call someone a moron (for doing so!). unless you got your phd in the mail, familiarity with academics should have made you aware of that. edit: consider my insults peer review.

Do you drive a car made just down the road, by an artisan machinist and welder? Or a car manufactured by a large, impersonal, multinational corporation? We all have choices to make with our coin. "Judge not lest ye be judged".

Thread TL;DR. apologies for the repeat.

I read a lot of economic information on the state of the bourbon industry. If you are referring to niche distillers with already limited production, before the bourbon boom then yes, they are very limited. However, Beam, JD, those guys have a virtually infinite supply of used barrels. Beam produces about 8 million cases of bourbon a year each case contains about 12 bottles, you do the math.

I think you are way off base. Other than being foreign corporations in the beer business, there are very few similarities between Duvel and AB/InBev

Unless the beer is free, they're making money off you. And if they didn't make that money, they wouldn't be there brewing. Sure, they enjoy brewing, but it's still a business and without that mighty dollar they're not there.

Well they do make Miller 64. That's a crime against humanity if I've ever tasted one.

Duh. No one makes anything for free. If you sold out to BMC, money was your ultimate goal, not making beer for people to enjoy, plain and simple. Steve Wagner, Greg Koch, Tony Magee, Larry Bell, Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers should start doing seminars and teach people whats up, because clearly some do not get it.

In what regard? I assume you name callers have never been in any type of graduate classes. Your use of words (obviously from listening to too much Rush Limbaugh or O'Reilly) would never fly in a graduate seminar on the ethical practices of MNC's. The first time you called someone a moron for throwing out an opinion based, admittedly loosely, upon an article, that was recently read, which may or may not have been biased, you would be asked to leave. Credibility? Does anyone have anymore of that than anyone else on here. Be objective. This is not about how a beer tastes. Its about a large company's attempt at smothering the craft brewery industry. If you check it out the Internet has resources that will speak to this, there are also several documentaries that discuss this. I am not sure if you are aware, but AB has also begun to brew beers to mimic "craft" brews along with buying out already established brick and mortar craft breweries.

    1. You claim to be opposed to MNCs yet buy and drink beer from MNCs and their subsidiaries.
    2. You accuse people who do not call you names of being name callers.
    3. You claim a PhD in a difficult analytic discipline that requires getting and keeping facts straight, but fail to do so.
    4. You prejudge others on the basis of a short statement of less than 10 words, demonstrating a lack of careful thought.
