What's it take to land this? Not sure I have the ammo, but curious nonetheless

Saw a thread earlier today looking for KBBS and Mornin' Delight + for one, general opinion seemed to be that that was fair. Good luck trying to snag one!

I traded my SHBRL for a 13 and 14 BVDL.

I got into trade a well after SHBRL came out, I think, and still have no idea why it commands so much given what people gave up for BVDL and offering up for KBBS. Would love some insights on why it's trading so high. Thanks.

It truly is an absolutely delicious beer; well worth its rating and hype. I believe the release was maybe 400 bottles, over two years ago and cannot really imagine there are that many left on the trade market. You've got to pay if you want to play now.

it's being released again in (likely) January-February, so try again and find out!

Thanks for the insight, Shane. I would like to try it if I have a chance to, but like all other beers that require "left nuts", I won't subject myself to the frenzy, past or present.

Has that been confirmed? Considering it spends ~21 months in wine barrels, and then who knows how long in bottles before release, that timeline seems plausible.

I was in negotiations yesterday and a guy and he wanted KBBS+Assassin+Wild Peach, too rich for my blood.

It's the best beer brewed in the US that I have ever had. Also, even if they are brewing it again, I was under the impression the head brewer left after being there for something like 15 years? I would guess the new batch would be somewhat different than the original if that is correct. Either way, I wouldn't trade one for anything that's ever been brewed in this country honestly.

Edit - Also, for the record, if I had the TG beers people are asking for, I would have done the trade immediately upon seeing it.

I can help shed some light guys, from having spoken to some folks who would know...it is almost certainly coming out again in the early part of 2015. and yes, the head brewer was hired away from Two Roads (of all places), BUT, the original recipe was left behind (that was part of the deal). So take that FWIW...

Also, i do believe the current Southampton brewer was the assistant when SHBRL was originally brewed. To reiterate what has already been said, this is one of, if not the best american sours. I went to the release, had it on draft before i even got in line to claim bottles and immediately started negotiating trades for more bottles on top of the allotment i had already secured. I ended up with 7 bottles, only traded one and drank all the rest with good company, even with some people who had never had sour beer before! Oh the humanity:grimacing::grimacing:!!

I guess what I was getting at wasn't that the recipe changed, but the beer probably will turn out differently (although I hope not). Either way, this will be the most hyped release probably ever (and from my perspective rightfully so). Cheers!

I can also confirm that it is one of the top American sour beers that I have ever had the pleasure to consume. Calling it the best is so subjective that I could never say that. I recently fielded an offer for a pretty nice assortment of BA Stouts, but the trade did not work out for other reasons.

At this point, I plan on drinking my remaining bottle. I really can't think of any beer(s) that I would rather enjoy in it's place.

    No trade offers please.
