We don't get it in MO anymore, sadly. I never drank a ton of their stuff, but Raging Bitch was good. However, Horn Dog is AWESOME...probably one of the best values for an English-style barleywine out there...really tasty beer at a great price and ages wonderfully. I misses it...

Raging Bitch is great. The name, of course, is silly, but it's my favorite by them. Like it better than Gonzo...

I like the beers but can not stand the oyster stout. My very first drain pour and I've drank some nasty stuff.

The only two I've had from there that have made any impression on me were Raging Bitch and Dead Rise (Disliked bitch and enjoyed rise). The rest are meh/meh+.

I like Flying dog, I haven't had any for awhile but Snake Dog is the beer that brought me into the craft world, for which I am thankful.

    IMO...
Raging Bitch is a fantastic beer.
    Gonzo is a good beer.
Everything else they brew is ok.
    So I voted "like it"

They make some good beers. They have a place in my fridge.

Don't forget their Underdog Atlantic Lager and their Easy IPA.

I think Flying Dog is actually underrated.. they used to catch alot of shit for using Ralph Steadman art, but I think that phase has died down.. they have their share of clunkers, but they brew some really great beers too.. Gonzo, BA Gonzo, Raging Bitch, Kujo Imperial Coffee Stout, Horn Dog Barleywine, Double Dog Pale Ale (haven't had in awhile), and their Single-Hop DIPAs are good too.. so I think they're hit or miss, but their hits are great..

I only ever had the Gonzo porter and we No longer get it here. Well at least not at Total wine. Though I not seen it anywhere, It may not be distro here any more, I have to check. I like the porter when it was cheaper and in 6 packs.
of course its been awhile, It could have been 4 packs???. Its a porter than is stronger than most so called stouts.

never seen any others. but my store is getting suckie on 6 pack selection.

Gonzo/BA Gonzo were pretty good. Most of the few others I've had I didn't think were all that great. I didn't vote since I have not had very many of their beers (maybe 5-6 total).

Being a Frederick MD native, there are many Flying Dog brews I think are very well made. There are some middle of the road and some turds.

The one word to describe Flying Dog beers as a generalization is "harsh". Not sure if its the water, or hopping process but I think that is actually pretty fair generalization. A few exceptions to that (Old Scratch Amber, In Heat Wheat, Agave Cervesa to name a few) are smooth but anything hop forward is very, well "harsh" to describe it.

Yup, fan of flying dog. Biggest convenience is you can pretty much find them anywhere in DC so never have deal with BMC products at sports/concerts/events.

The beer I've had from them has been okay.

The label art I could do without, just looks like some adolescent with ADHD doodling

They make some beers I like, some I don't like, and some unique stuff that I appreciate just for the attempt... The brewery is all around just OK to me.

My only gripe with them is that it's obvious they try to get free media attention with their adolescent beer names... In-Heat Wheat, Raging Bitch, and Pearl Necklace. It's annoying that gov't and media bite on this stuff at all, but still Flying Dog have a pattern in this regard that I'm personally tired of. In fairness, it's been a few years since I saw any news stories of this sort, so maybe they are growing up a little.

Love some, like some, don't care for some. Hate the labels. Loved the original label for Pale Ale.

Underdog doesn't get the amount of love it should. That is a tasty lager.

I was lukewarm toward FD until I visited the brewery a couple years ago. That gave me a much bigger appreciation for what they are doing. I don't drink a ton of FD, especially since I've moved to Chicago, but I still count Raging Bitch as one of my all-time favorite beers.

I hate the labels too, despite being a longtime Hunter Thompson/Ralph Steadman fan. I just don't think the aesthetic works for beer. This is a big reason I shied away from them before visiting the brewery. I gravitate toward 'brands' I enjoy almost as much as the actual beer.

Also - I LOVED the pineapple saison they did 2 summers ago. Only got to try it a couple times, but damn was it good.

I rarely drink Flying Dog and think its just ok, but my brother lives in MD and one thing I've learned by visiting is people that live in MD really love all things Flying Dog.

*waits for MD'er to tell me my half joking gross generalization is wrong.

If you had asked me this question 6 months ago (I said "Liked It"), I would've given a different answer, but I think FD has really upped their game in the last year or so. Most of their year-round beers are uninspired (Snake Dog, Doggie Style, Old Scratch, etc.), but I've really enjoyed the Dead Rise and Bloodline lately, and some of their single hop IPAs are quite good, especially on tap. Glad to see a local brewery doing what is necessary to stay competitive in the ever-evolving craft beer game.
