Does it count if you struggled between 2 choices, and when you get home you wish you'd taken the blue pill? I do that quite often...

I Never picked the wrong beer, but expired beers must have happened once or twice.

About 3 weeks ago, I was a my local Total Wine on the hunt for a Lil Sumpin Extra, and it appeared they were out. On my way out, I stumbled across a 6-pack of it, sitting alone near the registers, lifted one of the bottles enough to verify the date was good, and made my way to the cashier. Later, after they'd been chilling in the fridge, I pulled one out and discovered someone had filled the Lil Sumpin Extra holder with 6 Lagunitas IPAs. That was a sad/angry moment (especially since I paid more for a 6-pack of IPA). No offense to their IPA, but it's no Lil Sumpin Extra! Needless to say, I brought it back the next day for a refund...

I accidentally grabbed Terrapin Rye Cubed SEVERAL times when reaching for Liquid Bliss.... Huge disappointment, because I love one and not the other (can you guess which one!)

Did this once with Fullers, wanted the Porter and ended up with the London Pride Bitter. Not a bad beer but definitely not what I wanted. I didn't notice until I was pouring a glass and noticed the porter didn't look very porter-ish.

Still don't think I've had a London Porter...

Last year at a beer fest, asked for Pagan Porter by Gaudenbier. Sit down, and it`s a golden body (style is a porter). Go back and ask him for another because i think he gave me the wrong one. Pours it again and same thing. Never, ever seen a porter so light in color!

Ok, i DIDN`T order the wrong beer but i though i did, does that count? :grinning:

Once ordered a hefeweizen and got a very clear tan carbonated beer that tasted almost like a cider (I think the waittress mentioned it was a cream ale - but that doesn't make sense either). Of course she fixed the error and asked if I wanted the other beer since it was poured. I was very much not in the mood for said beer (or its quality, plus Beer Camp was the night before) I actually declined.

Early in my introduction to Firestone Walker I didn't notice/realize the difference between Union Jack and Double Jack. Having the lighter of the two was a disappointment at some level, but not in the grander scheme of things. I order both, but now I realize what I am ordering.

I've had something that would make you think twice:

Romulan blue beer. Didn't look like beer, smell like beer, or taste like beer. Nastiest shit I've ever had. Dumped it into the drain because I didn't want to harm my lawn.

2 minutes before writing this post I had that happen.

I visited Stone Brewery this summer and SWORE I had my Stone growler filled with their Saison and that I absolutely LOVED IT. Bought it in 12oz. bottle form yesterday, poured it into a glass, took a few sips and, sadly, poured it out. Absolutely terrible.

Maybe I had a bad batch.... It had almost a medicinal, bitter taste. It was like that flavor you get after you hold some kind of powder coated pill in your mouth for too long.

Hopefully it was just a bad batch!

Although not my fault, today I bought the wrong growler full of beer. When I got out to my car, I saw on the receipt that the guy had filled my growler with Foudners Dissenter instead of the Kane Overhead I ordered. Man, the guy dumped out the whole growler. Sad to see. Why didn't I just suck it up and leave with the Dissenter? I liked Dissenter from the bottle I bought during the summer, but Overhead, man. Had to have it.

Thought I grabbed New Belgium 1554 Enlightened Ale only to realize it was their 1554 Black Lager. Really? 2 beers referencing the same year?
