Anyone else been there? I attended their soft opening tonight in Vista and it was fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I cannot say enough about this place. They are masters of Brettanomyces and it shows in their Saisons and IPA. They also offered a Bourbon barrel-aged Porter with vanilla and coffee, and it did not feel rushed at all. They took their time, and they took risks. Very excited about what this place will brew next.

I was planning a ticking trip down to SD in the near future, so I will add this spot to my list.

I drink a lot of beers from all over the country/world. I have pretty high standards and I like to think that I can pick out good beers from beers that are brewed solely to appeal to the masses. I tried beers tonight that smelled and tasted unlike beer I've ever tried before.

Their standard IPA needs a little work (it's a bit weak), but overall, it's the best new brewery in the area. I look forward to your reviews, my friend.

It's hard to be masters so early in their life. I realize that there are about 300 breweries in San Diego but to say a new brewery has mastered an obscure style smells of inside trading hype. I do need a new place to house my jumper cables so I might check them out.

There's around 90, but yeah. Peter knows what he's doing.

Well, perhaps "masters" was a drunk exaggeration last night, but they are damn skilled.

And I can guarantee, this is not an inside job. I just want them to do well. There are a lot of breweries in SD, but there are also a lot of shitty breweries in SD.

Peter is one of the best home brewers in SD, and probably makes the best sour beers of any homebrew i have ever tried. now just a little more waiting

The Brett IPA should be out soon. It's dry-hopping at the moment. There is a imperial milk stout in the pipeline as well.

Oh and their are three wine barrels full of funky saison with peaches and nectarines aging away...

Sounds like a promising brewery. Will have to keep my eye on them. Any idea when they will officially open?

They are open today 3-9. Not sure if this is another soft opening or they are official now though.

It's not insider trading hype as much as a yearning for the type of beer he's bringing to the table. I'm sure the notes about Toolbox being open made a dozen or so followers of BA and similar forums jizz their pants.

Can't wait to try this spot! I'm going to try and swing by before or after the Council bottle release party next weekend.

I consider Peter a friend and am happy to see they are up and running. I did a flight yesterday and the Brett Drei was the best in my flight followed closely by the Brett IPA.

All in all a well put together tasting room and a solid line up of beers. Definitely will be a go to spot for me!

I stopped in last Saturday and had a great experience. Most beers had kicked but I had the standard IPA and their Saison. I found both really solid, especially for the first run. Had the pleasure to meet Peter and Spencer and they were both great guys with a passion for beer and a great understanding of the process to make some tasty/unique stuff.

I'm really looking forward to their regular use of Brett and other funky stuff to provide some different tasting beers. And also, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the tasting room, which is a big deal to me. I like to see that kind of approach to the whole experience.

Looking forward to getting back there soon!

Looks like they will be open Friday to Sunday this weekend. Direct TV got installed so I'm sure there will be football on.

As long as the Bros stay away, things should be fine. And know a proper hipster would never step foot in Vista (which is how we like it around here).
