Tree House Brewing - September 2014

Just an FYI- Tree House is closed this Saturday 9/13. Brewer is getting married.

 

I believe it's next Saturday that they're closed.

 

Not sure I'd want to taste Vincent. Or would I?

 

When they brew a small beer...they shall name it Vincent!

this is killing me. I was there Thursday and promised myself I wouldnt make another trip if something delicious just happened to come on later in the weekend.

 

That is the exact reason I switched my weekly trip to Fridays

 

Lately, I've been going on Fridays as well but we went to see Paula Poundstone last night. Last time I went on a Thurs I waited almost 2 hrs. This week was amazingly painless though. In and out in a half hour. It's all good!

 

I love me some double shot but this is at another level. Good Morning indeed!

 

On a side note, I'm trying to remember the name of Tree House beer, a hoppy pale, that (I think) only appeared once. I'm hoping someone remembers the name. It wasn't East Hill, obviously it wasn't Tornado. I got it in April 2014 (I think), and I remember that it had a generous portion of wheat malt and a super creamy mouthfeel. Was it Tessa? I just can't remember...

Tessa was born in December so wasn't that.

 

Could it have been Curiosity 6? I think that was out right around there.

 

Hmm. Not Tessa, OK. Could have been Curiosity 6, but I don't think it was. Also, I remember the online description mentioned the large amount of wheat. Eureka w/ Galaxy was on at the same time.

 

I think you might be right. I just checked the reviews for Curiosity 6, and the first reviews seem to coincide with the week I got it. Not only that, the reviews mention the wheat and mouthfeel I remember. OK now I can sleep tonight. I was totally tortured.

 

Got really lucky today with timing relative to past trips. Arrived around 2 pm, small crowd with only 25 min wait for growlers. Was told the morning was crazy and they were expecting another rush around 4 to close. Allegedly that's fairly normal for Saturdays, so I'm gonna aim for the middle of the day again in the future.

My sample of Good Morning (haven't opened growlers yet) was enough to tell me that if it somehow made it through today, I recommend prioritizing a trip there Wednesday to grab some. Very true to TreeHouse's tasting notes.

P.S. Also heard late october is the hope as far as moving to the new space - I'm sure others have more info than me but exciting to hear.
