And my garage fridge is getting quite full. I need another plan for my cellar...

 

We have 2 fridges in the garage, one for beer and the other for food/bottled water/soda. I filled the beer fridge, and slowly took over the other one. That one got to capacity back in like May/June. Since then I've taken to stacking cases in the kitchen, and I think I'm up to like 7. I really with I had a basement.....

 

You know you're a beer geek when... you start hoarding good boxes for beer trade I think a lot of us are in the same boat where space is a fine commodity. My parents live about 15 minutes away from me and I started putting beer boxes in their basement. It's perfect for storing vertical boxes I don't intend on touching for another year or two.

Though, I always get worried when my beer isn't under my domain, and out of my control. Since I don't have kids yet, my beer is my baby haha.

 

Sadly both my parents and in-laws, though they live close to me, do not have basements either, I'm stuck finding space indoors (god my wife loves this) or letting them bake/freeze in the garage which I refuse to do. Boxes I'm hoarding for the purpose of using to ship beer, that is taking up garage space, and at this point my wife isn't even happy about that... I think I should get her flowers or something in the immediate future.

 

I have a beverage fridge downstairs that is pretty full, along with 3 or 4 beers upstairs in the kitchen fridge (either in case a neighbor stops by to BS or if a bottle/growler is too big to fit downstairs). Then I have a another bunch (primarily stouts or BA or barleywine) in my "wine cellar", which is really just the area under my front porch. And since I'm ridiculous, I also have a spreadsheet listing my inventory, and it includes a column listing the exact location (ie, "box 2" or "long term storage/aging corner").

 

Since my kids have grown up and moved out of the house, my beer is my baby too...

 

I have that spreadsheet too, but it's really hard to keep up with. I need to take inventory again only this time not bother putting down anything that's an 'everyday' drinker, that way the changes will be less frequent.

Thanks @heystevec for a great box! Now I will put my stamp on the Sixterhood box, pack it up, and ship it right back to you. Pretty good timing as I will be making a trip to a popular Austin, TX brewery on Saturday. A bottle or two from that brewery just might make their way into the box.
