    Yesterday at Captain Lawrence Sour'd in September somebody stole 6 bottles of Flaming Fury and 6 bottles of Barrel Select Pomegranate from me. They were stored behind the Plan Bee booth. If anybody has any information for me about whatever scum did this, please let me know.

    To the above-mentioned scum,
    Maybe you woke up today, hungover, and saw the case, and realized the incorrigible act you'd committed yesterday evening, while sour-drunk... You gasped, guilt-sickened, called it a doosh move, and fretted all day, wondering how you could make things right. You contemplated with horror the terrible beer karma that would be unleashed upon you, your beer, your cellar, and your future trades.... And you understood, of course, that you could never actually DRINK the pilfered lot, as they would taste of sin, guilt, cowardice, urine, and feces.... I could continue on about your honor and integrity, etc, but you get the point; actually all of this was wasted time in my part because you're already contacting jeff to make it all right and restore balance and order...

    Flogging or not, I would just be happy getting the $180 of beer back.

    From Reddit;

    Jeffboyardee123 - I saw your post on BA. I fucked up and took your beer. I'm sorry and want to make it right.

    Hoping someone sees this and can alert the victim of my crime. I will ship it all back to him. Can message me on here, send his address and I will ship.

    Will just ask that he post on BA in the thread under his user name some kind of word that we agree upon so I know it's going to the right person.

    Thanks for the heads up Devman! Just sent them a message on Reddit, hoping this all gets resolved soon. If it does it makes me feel better about the community as a whole

    There had better be some goodies added to the box. Otherwise the thief is still the biggest A hole in the universe.

    At this point just getting the box back is cool by me. Don't even want to know who did it. Takes no courage to steal something, does take courage to return it. They can stay anonymous as far as I care.

    It is one of my pet peeves. If you steal something and then give it back all is well. Not in my book.

    so did this guy steal it, or just take it by accident thinking it was his or something? not sure whether his characterization of his action as a "crime" is hyperbole

    From the sounds of his Reddit post, It was a case of he grabbed the box by mistake.

    Let us know when returned so we can all give you a big hell yes. When people ask me how it was back 6 or 7 years ago on this site, I can simply respond that this type of shit seldom took place. Now it is WAY TOO common. Forget advocacy, let's just be happy you don't come across crooks.

    I wouldn't ever risk hiding my box at a festival, but completely understand that we should be able to trust those in our community, especially at an event like Sour'd. It seemed like everyone there was of the best midset. I'm glad you're getting back your box. That post made my heart sink a bit.

    Really.

    Funny it happened at Capt. L. I remember when 50 of the world's finest beers would be on top of the old CL picnic table, and folks would be too honest to even pour a glass without asking the person who brought it, let alone grab a bottle. Now someone would probably steal the best of them when no one is looking.

    indeed. an unfortunate side effect of the beer hoarding/trading culture.
