Ever mix 2 IPAs ?

I mixed Torpedo with Undercover Investigation Shutdown Ale once, it had the same aroma amplification effect.

 

I may have to give this a try. I can definitely see how a session IPA with little malt presence would amp up a regular IPA that may be a little lighter in the hops department or a little past its prime. I am a little worried about the small hole that is starting to open up in my back yard though...

I do this all the time to stretch out mediocre IPAs. Also, I find that dry hopped IPAs mix well with malt forward IPAs. It makes the end result taste more hoppy than just aromatic

 

Mazel Death! For a while I had Shmaltz Mazel Hops and Death of a Contract Brewer on tap in the Shmaltz Brewery tasting room. It was fantastic and kinda became the thing to order. Mostly Mazel Hops and a little pull of DoaCB into the tasting glass! Really awesome!

 

Undercover is an ESB technically, but it's very close to an IPA.

 

I've thought of it but never did it, Ill have to give it a shot.

 

Had Abner kick on me halfway through a growler fill at Hill Farmstead. They topped it off with Double Citra. It was fantastic.

I believe The Alchemist gave samples of a Focal Banger/Crusher mix at one of their pop-up truck sales. Heard it was great from a friend.

 

Just for the hell of it mixed Pliny and HT 50/50. Pretty damn good actually.

 

This is definitely a "thing" at the Toppling Goliath taproom. They have several options on the menu. So far my favorite is SueZee (pseudosue+zeelander).

Other than the classic DFH 90 Minute and 60 minute, mix? No I have not, but that one is very good.

 

As if it wouldn't be I can only imagine a scenario in which Heady the Elder somehow tasted awful. That's like, kisses from Natalie Portman would be great, and Kisses from Kate Upton would be great, but both at the same time? Ew, gross.

 

Another good combo is Sue's Nuggets (pseudoSue and Golden Nugget)

 

Huh - next time I'm up at HF I'm going to ask how often that happens. I wonder if there are other success stories out there. That combo sounds delicious, by the way.

 

I used to mix 60 minute and 90 minute ipa.... it was such a great idea that dogfish stole it from me and they sell 75 minute ipa

 

At a recent tasting we mixed Pliny, Backcountry DIPA, and Comrade Superpower to create "SuperCountry the Elder."
It wasn't bad at all.

 

If Black IPAs count then 21st Amend Back in Black and Dirtwolf make a tasty combo

 

I have never thought about it but I guess I found a purpose for some of the IPAs that sit in my fridge because they aren't my favorites. Can't wait to start mixing some up
