Heading up to Fiddlehead Thursday for some Mastermind. Can I buy a full case? And if so, what is the price? Thanks!

Do you know if there's a limit at the brewery?

The guy that grabbed it for me last week said $10/4pk $60/case, with no limit. So if its the same as that, should be no limit this week too. Wish i had asked for more than 2 4pks!

How quickly has this been selling out? I'll be up there Friday afternoon and would love to score some.

I think after the last canning there was left overs... but don't know how long it lasted.

What's the scene like at Fiddlehead during these releases? I was up there last fall and they just had regular fiddlehead IPA and a couple red ales or something on tap...not bad but nothing mind blowing, and nobody was there.

I'm going back to VT on vacation again in 3 weeks and if they release this one or second fiddle I'd really like to grab some, but I'm curious about what to expect and if it's an in and out thing or a wait in line for 3 hours thing, which the wife likely wouldn't go for. I had a glass of Mastermind at Hop Jam and it was the 2nd best beer I had all day, and that's really saying something with that ridiculous lineup.

Fiddlehead still has 3 taps in tasting room. 1 tap is reserved for Fiddlehead IPA (flagship), the other two taps are new brews (they try to not brew the same beer more than once for those rotating taps, so it should change every couple of weeks).

Second Fiddle is done for the year and might/maybe be back sometime next summer. Mastermind is now what they are brewing/canning. They are trying to can and release every 2 weeks or so. They are doing another canning this week, so next canning will probably be 2 weeks from now.

Lines there are usually very short. Mostly very locals stopping by. Only time I've ever seen it really busy was when the beer tour bus/van drops off twenty people.

They are also sending out cans of Mastermind to a few retail stores. Last time that Second Fiddle went to retail outlets, it lingered for a few weeks. So if they can again in 2 weeks, you might be able to find some at retail places (if they don't have any at brewery). However, they might can again in 3 weeks, so you could get lucky. They always (so far) can and release on Thursdays.

    * Edit: Sorry, I haven't been to one of these releases. I've just picked up Hodad and Second Fiddle cans at retail outlets, but I've been to the brewery several times on non-can-release days.

I was at the first Mastermind release got there about an hour early but the line was only about 40 people by the time the doors opened. I'm going again this week but won't probably go as early.

IMO Mastermind is the best VT DIPA going when you consider cost, accessibility, along with taste. I'm not saying it is better than Heady or Double Sunshine, but it sure as hell is easier to get, it is a great value, and I personally love the 12oz can format.
