Zwanze day 2014

Looks like my Zwanze luck changed. I got a follow up e-mail that someone had cancelled, so I'm in the session 3 group now. Just have to find a place to stay.

I'm in Group 2. May or may not participate in the bottle share; is anyone considering carpooling from/though the La Frontera area of Round Rock?

 

wife and i denied again this year. thats okay already decided we were not going to go fight a zoo for a measly 4 ounces of beer that we alkready have tried on numerous occasions and the new zwanze beer was not worth it either. I am sure the bottle share will be epic as usual though.

nope, was not planning on going already. mainly because of a 4oz pour and the fighting the crowds. I totally understand why JK is doing it this way. not to mention dropping loads (pun intended) this past weekend there

 

I got in on the first session and wanted to participate in the bottle share. I don't have any great out of distro bottles to bring (the only one I have is a Terrapin dos Cocoas). I definitely don't want to mooch so I was curious what type of bottles you are expected to bring. What is the etiquette here?

 

its a bottle share, you are over thinking it.

 

No huge etiquette don't be a D-Bag is usually the biggest one. Bring that and maybe 1 or 2 other out of distro bottles and go to town. Just don't get upset if someone doesn't pour a huge whale for you (most people don't care and still will) just have a good time there will be more bottles than you know what to do.

you know, I actually have never been to a bottle share so don't know how it works. I dont want to seem like a mooch. I also dont want anybody to be an ass to me because i didnt bring something "worthy" enough.

 

Congrats, first session is likely the best for Zwanze.
I'd suggest searching "share" on the forum. Or maybe reading the page of the thread you're posting on for relevant share info. I've quoted a helpful post for you.

A Goose Island sister bottle or very limited TX distro bottle (FW reserves, 512 Peach sour) would be a quick supplement to Terrapin. Even TX small distro footprint beers work (Karbach FUN, Community last year before they made it out of DFW iirc).

 

Most people are pretty cool about it honestly. One suggestion would be to bring some nice cheeses or meats or something. People appreciate that just as much if not more than bringing beers.

 

Again, overthinking it. Come with bottles to share, if anyone looks at you like you aren't worthy, fuck them. Stop worrying about what people think of you and more importantly what you bring. You'll only be an ass if you show up empty handed and expect a pour.

Should be a sweet bottle share... See everyone at session 1 and beyond, long time since we've had a state wide bottle share

Can we bring food for the start of the share, like cheese and breakfast tacos?

Woohoo got an email today that my name was drawn for third session because of a cancellation. Can't wait!
