DB huna was 25 and according to average ratings for the Ba mex cakes, Db huna beats it in taste as well. AB mex cake is highest at 4.68 while db huna has a 4.77. Not much of a difference. I'd love to do a side by side.

 

I think they are basically saying "the line starts at 6am". however that is just late enough that you know a lot of people will be lurking around beforehand. as popularity gets this high, I think you really just need to to lottery or unannounced. this way nearly guarantees a shit show.

GL folks. I'm in the state, and have no interest in getting into the fun times that will occur there, come Saturday morning. Hopefully it is as organized as can be expected, and there are no repeats like Huna Day!

Yes. But noot sure why people are complaining about price here. Everyone that had last years know these are world class beers. I personally think these are priced pretty fairly given the time in barrels. Good luck to everyone going down, and to the staff at Westbrook!

 

it would be wise of westbrook to hire a cop to keep unruly, greedy folks in check. gonna be a stressful situation for sure.

 

As expected, I will be missing out on this one. Stupid sister getting married on BA MC Day, how selfish.

That is true, but its pretty clear who they chose to appease. A pre-announced Sat AM release caters to the out of town crowd at the expensive of the locals. Now we could debate the equality and fairness of that, which we certainly dont need to do because its been done ad nauseam in this thread already, but its a fact.

I also think that the 6am line start time has the potential to be a disaster. I anticipate several hundred people inconspicuously loitering around Long Point Road between midnight and 6am. Nothing to see here folks, just strolling through the neighborhood.

All that being said, if I were in town Id still almost certainly still go. Should be interesting to say the least. Good luck everyone, and stay civil. The people at Westbrook are good folks and dont deserve a Huna-esque riot.

 

Polite way of saying we don't want to mess with credit cards. Other breweries have done it cash only, so at least you have the option here.

 

There will be police there, before and during the release. Behave kids!

A local is driving up Friday night. I expect he'll be lying in a gutter bleeding by noon Saturday. This is going to be a World class shit show.

Hope he doesn't expect to be staying on the brewery property. The police can and have escorted people off before just for trying to camp out in the lot.

That's like putting chum in the water and expecting the sharks to start dieting.

I might call the closest hotel to Westbrook Friday afternoon just to hear the annoyance in the front desk's voice.

 

My thoughts on Saturday will be with Westbrook and the loyal locals that support the brewery throughout the year. While I am not local, I was hoping for a silent/1 hour notice type of release just so those loyal locals would've had a better shot. I'm sure Westbrook put a lot of thought into how they wanted to do their release and certainly they do not need to justify why they are doing it this way. I'm just hoping everyone is civil. I will be driving up from Hilton Head Island on Saturday morning. Still trying to determine the best time to leave.
