    My mother-in-law finished up radiation treatment today - cracked this in her honor.

    Stopped by the bottle shop on the way home.

    Started with Trim Tab Bulleit Barrel Aged Rye Brown Ale.

    No idea what its name is supposed to mean but this Ollopa Dekoorc Eert IPA from Dark Horse Brewing (Marshall, Michigan) is pretty tasty.

    Time to crack one of my brews from today's significant haul: Schneider und Sohn Aventinus Wheat Doppelbock from 2003.

    Because, why not?

    It has aged very well, considering this bottle is as old as the war in Afghanistan. There's a pretty noticeable aspirin flavor, and the booze is a little strong in the aroma, but beyond that, it's smooth and tasty. It's not the style of beer I would normally age, but I'll gladly try one just for the hell of it.
