Mastermind DIPA

Someone 2 posts above your post said they were sighted in Rutland, so they are probably throughout the state, but in smaller deliveries.

Awesome. Just liked them on Facebook and my wife said "guess we are going to the Shelburne museum and stopping by the brewery". Definitely will.

 

Never heard of beer king before...thanks for pointing them out!

 

The Shelburne Vineyard winery is also directly across the street from Fiddlehead. They have lots of their wine along with other local wineries and meaderies that you can sample. I got a flight there last year and was able to mix their wine, other local wines, and meads on the same flight.

 

I've driven by a dozen times, was always intrigued and never stopped in. We always have our daughter, and usually we're hitting the museum or teddy bear factory. I've dragged her to Magic Hat once, and can get to Fiddlehead and make her wait a bit, but I wonder if I can do both. Need to go to VT with just my wife sometime.

 

you will just have to settle for Heady Topper.

 

Fiddlehead cans are found south of Rutland. You just gotta know where to look...

 

Scene was busy morning of release, when I arrived at 2-3pm, only a few people tasting. The people who worked there said second fiddle goes in 90 minutes and this stuff stays around for a few days.

If more people knew how awesome the mastermind is, it would go quicker. 80% pilsner malt. So crushable for an 8%

 

Second Fiddle was made and released during the height of tourist season in the Burlington area. If it was Mastermind being released Memorial day weekend and VT brewfest weekend it would have sold out just as fast. And yes I totally agree, it is far and away the most drinkable 8% DIPA ever made. Goes down like Lawson's super session 4% ABV beers, but is cheaper per ounce and easier to get. Win, win, win!

 

Might also be called Church Street Discount Bev.

Joe's in Springfield, Beverage Den in Bennington, and Bennington Beverage Outlet all got 3-5 cases each on Tuesday.

I want to travel to Shelburne from NYC to try and purchase this beer. However, I have access to Dirt Wolf, Double Trouble, DFH 90, Burton Baton, Bell's Two Hearted, MBC Lunch, and Stone's IPA. I've tried a can of Heady Topper and it was very good, but Lunch was just as good. Is it worth a trip to go to VT and buy a case of Mastermind? Although I would love to try this beer, I think I'm better off staying put. What do ya'll say?

 

As of 8 pm Friday, 9/19, they still had Mastermind at the brewery. Also found about a case yesterday at a little store in Morrisville (sorry, can't remember the name. One of the ones that gets Heady delivery on Friday.).

 

I'm looking to get a 4pk of Mastermind and some of their other offerings. Is Second fiddle still around (fresh)?
