    I don't have a lot of experience with this style, but this goes down very easily. Seems a bit drier than The Ness, and it's absolutely not in that beer's class, but overall very drinkable.

    I'm having a Founders Porter for the first time on tap. It's my fav porter in a bottle and this is better. Along with that I'm having a bbq combo plate at Lockhart (Royal Oak, MI). Tonight it's on to a show by that excellent prog band Discipline.

    Drinking a few IPAs and a Sour at Scorched Earth Brewery in Algonquin today. Pretty good stuff and nice taproom with nice tap tenders. Will definitely be back.

    Wow, i guess I have to give this a try. The only thing i knew about Ballantine is that it could be found on the bottom shelf back in the day and kind of lumped in with OE and St. Ides. Y'all have piqued my interest a little. It looks like their IPA maybe isn't have bad.
