My wife and I are planning a road trip to commemorate our 10th anniversary next summer. If this just so happens to cross the paths of some of the best breweries in America then so be it.

What are some of your favorite breweries to get some of the best beers out there?

    Thanks for your help.

There are so many good breweries out there that I'd plan my VC based on other factors and then locate the target beer goodies.

But to give you an answer, The Bruery has many excelent beers on tap that never make it to bottle. The rest of SoCal ain't too bad to look at either. Lots of other great breweries between LA and San Diego.

If you want to go somewhere close, hit Asheville - I love Wicked Weed and its a great place to spend time, particularly the space downstairs. Great town to spend a few days in, and there are tons of other beer options.

Another vote for Asheville, Wicked Weed, Wedge, Green Man, Highland and others...not far from Oskar Blues, New Belgium and Sierra Nevada, great scenery and Ashville is one of those places that are great to visit

Straub and Yuengling are amazing breweries despite maybe not being in the top 250 on BA. Both breweries have extremely nice and friendly workers and rich history. On the other end of the spectrum, Hill Farmstead is also a cool place if you enjoy the whole soup **** style place.

just got back from Asheville, Wicked Weed was actually my first brewery (besides Smokey Mountain I guess) and we loved it. Need to go back for the purpose of exploring even more of Asheville, cool town.

Another vote for Hill Farmstead (as long as you like being somewhere pretty remote, and you both enjoy the outdoors)

You could spend a long time trying to hit all the great Breweries in Michigan.
    Founders
    Bells
    Odd Side
    Dark Horse
    Jolly Pumpkin
    Right Brain
    Round Barn
    Shorts
And many more. And that is just the west side of the state.

The Bruery in Orange County is a great visit and the wife and I also love Ballast Point in Little Italy, San Diego. Great Food and beer and so close to the Pacific Ocean. Stone is between these two, also a very nice atmosphere. Just to the east of downtown SD is my personal favorite: Alpine Beer Company. A great pub for food and some of the best hoppy beers in existence you can take with you. The quality of the beers of these 4 breweries is widely documented, they just offer a little extra something on top of that. Hoppy Travels
