You're right everyone should trade all their limited beers for shelf stuff. I get what you're doing here...sadly it's not how the trading forum works for hard to get beers from other states. Most TX traders just don't know any better and get taken most of the time.

They are getting taken because they are trading their beer that they bought with their own money for something they want that they can't get here? You tell them what clothes they should wear too?

Buying a rare beer? You should at least wear a suit....preferably at least an Armani. Have some class. We are not buying Natty Ice here.

I'm really hoping I can convince the wife to stop on our way back from Grapevine Saturday afternoon. Aurelian is by far my favorite JK beer.

To me anything on the shelf in California is rare.

The whole point of trading isn't to win the trade. These forums are ridiculous sometimes! Scratch that, all the time.

I trade a lot of JK and Freetail stuff for Almanac which is not hard to find or limited at all. What makes me happiest is knowing that Brian, my trading partner, very rarely drinks a bottle by himself. He takes it to huge shares so people in California can see how awesome Texas beers are.

People are free to trade for whatever they want. It's their beer, they can do what they want with it.

Meanwhile Brian is at those shares laughing about the sucker from TX who sends him rare beers for shelf Almanac stuff.

    Kidding!!!! LYMI!

When I trade beers, which I rarely do any more, I trade them for whatever the fuck I want to trade them for. Ain't nobody else's business.

I just send beer to my regualars who send me beer back. We do not really even talk about what is being sent. We just know what is good and trust the other person will return good things. I am fine with that.

I am in the same boat..

I have a Portland guy that I send semi to full blind packages of JK and Prairie. He sends back special Upright releases, Commons, Ale Apothecary, De Garde, etc.. He once sent me a La Vermontoise he found at Belmont station (1 per person) as an extra.. I dont even really need to tell him anything he just sends a box and its a surprise when I open it. I actually have one on the way as we speak from him.

I am completely happy with the arrangement and so is he.
