Evening BA! I'm re-visiting my favorite locally available IPAs tonight to see if there's one that I prefer.

Started with the one I've been drinking the most of lately, Resurrected

    Then on to Odell IPA

And am now drinking a Union Jack

Continuing what has apparently become New Beer Saturday, with my 3rd new beer of the day. This time, it's a great brewery we don't get in distro around here: Bell's.

I think this tune is just as appropriate for my Saturday, however:

    Cheers, BAs!

I just got back from Austin Street Brewery with a 32 oz growler of Bretteweizen, a traditional German hefeweizen fermented with yeast from Gneiss Brewing (a Maine brewery specializing in German-inspired wheat beers I have yet to check out) and brettanomyces.

While I was at the brewery I tried pilot beer no. 11, a 5% abv Brett pale ale generously hopped with locally harvested Cascade hops.

Now I'm enjoying the BretteWeizen growler. The Brett character is subtle, which works well with the style. It's got the usual banana notes of a weizen, some pear, and a little bit of funk. I don't recall the abv but I believe it was around 6%.

The timing of this release couldn't have been better with today feeling more like summer than any day earlier in the month. Puts me in the mood for a little reggae.

    Video is hilarious.

I'm drinking Ranger Creek's first attempt at a sour. Mediocre beer while I watch a mediocre Texas football team. Props to Ranger Creek for trying something new, however.

I'm jealous, the 4-pack I picked up in Stoneham a week ago was bottled 09/02. I'm hoping when it shows up in Maine it'll have the later dating.
