I recently tried Green Flash's Road Warrior for the first time. Superb. I have also enjoyed Founders Red Rye, Hop rod and SN Ruthless. Which other ones shouldn't I miss? Also, I'm a rye whiskey fan and I was wondering if there are any beers aged in rye barrels. That sounds like it might be interesting. Cheers!

I have a ST 2X Rye waiting in the fridge. I'll let you know! It'll actually be my first rye beer.

Boulevard Rye on Rye sounds pretty good.

You should be able to find Arcadia's Sky High Rye in cans, or maybe even in bottles. It's a good one.

Rye beer in rye whiskey barrels.

"Grainstorm Black Rye IPA" is also an interesting one.

Great Divide's Hoss Rye Lager is a nice spin on the use of rye. Has a surprisngly deep toasty finish, evoking something almost like chocolate and cherry notes.

Westbrook One Claw is terrific, if you can get any. It was so balanced (in a "hop-forward" sort of way, if that makes any sense) and such a refreshing, drinkable, rye pale ale.

wookey jack - firestone walker. probably my favorite beer right now. black rye IPA - buts its a big IPA, and the rye plays so well with the roasted malt flavor.

Founders reds rye, sixpoint righteous ale, terrapin rye, wookey jack. For something different, The Bruery Smoking Wood 2014 aged in Rye whiskey barrels

Rye barrel aged beers seems to be a new big trend. I was at a festival (Autumn Brew Review in Minneapolis) this weekend and they were everywhere. Mostly small-batch experimental stuff though; I don't know of many more common ones.

Had a couple of these recently -- dang tasty!

OP, you may still be able find some Left Hand Fade to Black Vol. 5, which was a black rye ale. Probably a little faded since it came out last fall/winter, I believe, but it was tasty back in February or so when I had it.

You could also give He'Brew Bittersweet Lenny's Rye IPA a whirl. Rye-forward, which is cool, but I found it little hot/boozy.

There are very few things as enjoyable to me as fresh Red's Rye--cost be darned.

A big second on Westbrook One Claw--really enjoyed that one this summer at the beach--and canned.

If you like rye, then you gotta try the Bruery's Rugbrod. That beer is like eating dark rye bread.

    Cane and Ebel
He'Brew Bittersweet Lenny's Rye IPA (I did not have the same issue as breadwinner)
SA Roggen Wolf (Rye IPA) - new brand, and definitely not the strongest in terms of rye flavor, but it makes its presence known and has a decent balance to it
    Founders Red's

Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger! Unfortunately, it's a seasonal.

An inexpensive option in this area is Harpoon's Rich & Dan's Rye IPA.

And---oh yeah---I can get Westbrook One Claw any time I want it. Eat your hearts out, suckers.
