Looking for some advice on a MIA trader

    Synopsis...

    About a month ago, a guy had an ISO posted... I BM'd him to set up the trade and let him know that the beer he wanted would be hitting shelves soon, and asked him if we were definitely on before I bought them. He said yes, and I opened a trade request. I had to snag them before he accepted the request as these sell out quick.

    A week goes by without him responding to my messages (thankfully I asked if he could ship first), and he finally says that he's been super busy, but his end will be at my house in a couple of days. This was Sept. 10th, and it's now Oct. 1st and I still haven't received anything.

    My dilemma is... I can't leave negative feedback since he never accepted the request, and I still have the beer I bought for him. Although I'm technically not out anything, I did buy beer that I wasn't planning on buying that I'm now stuck with. Do you guys have any advice on how to handle it? Do I just let it go? Do I out him?

    What is the hard to find beer you had to buy before he accepted your trade request?
    Also you should post his user name and give him a chance to say why he's been MIA.
    It's not the worst trade situation I've seen but the lack of total communication on his end makes me not want to trade with him.

    I'd refer him to this thread in private message, giving him a last chance. If you don't hear back from him in a day or 2, tag him. An accepted trade request isn't the end-all required criteria when it comes to outing people failing their commitment after you made conscious efforts specific to the trade, especially with money already spent.

    On the bright side, I don't think you'd be stuck with the 3x GG for too long.

    Sorry to hear Dave. I sent the guy a message a while back as well and he responded to me saying he worked it out. If you don't get anything back, at least you have some nice extras later down the line.

    Well, that may have done the trick. He said he'd have a tracking number Friday.

    Glad it worked out. Funny how until reputation is on the line, people would conveniently be "busy". This trade is an "OK" at best.
