Am just finishing up studying for the day and thought...what a better way to relax than open up a special PLATINUM beer! I of course had to select proper glassware.

Nothing crazy for the rest of the night. I bought the SA Summer Seasonal and am working my way through those. Just a few solid beers while I re-organize the cellar.

    What is everyone else drinking?

    Cheers!

Absolutely gorgeous day so I cracked open Apollo by Sixpoint. Was not impressed. A funky sour taste, beyond lemon almost mustard. I don't know what was going on. Drinkable, but I would not get again.

Just a 'gansett Summer after I finished installing a storm door on our house. Paired well with my old Sega Genesis and Super Baseball 2020. Apparently in only eight years we'll have baseball-playing robots and stadiums in space laced with land mines.

Not a Black Ale fan but a huge Deschutes fan....so decided to give this a try. Very happy I did, can't say I am any more fond of the style than I was prior but I definitely am enjoying this. Deschutes could probably make me a fan of just about any style I'd imagine.

Started out the day with a 56 cent a can beer I've seen mentioned here a few times....it actually wasn't bad at all.

I drank way too much for the Azzurri game this afternoon (LEM, Augustiner Edelstoff, and FFF Rabbid Rabbit) after which I took a nap. Now its lots of water and a bit Green machine.

started off with a Lagunitas IPA when some company was arriving for a BBQ...

then based on some advice from last night's LNBA, i decided to pop open the 08 Hennepin i have alongside an 11 with a buddy at the BBQ. the 08 was definitely funky and odd, my buddy didn't like it at all...after i finished my glass of the 11 i polished off both of the 08 and found it growing on me, but definitely don't let hennepin get that old.

now, settling into the evening and tying up some loose ends before tomorrow with a Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th...nice, but still not as good as the 11 BCBS that i swapped for it.

Finishing up (well I might have one more) with this lovely offering from Great Lakes. With this and Eddy Fitz I am pretty ticked I don't get their stuff here.

Had a Brooklyn Lager from the bottle with dinner at Alto Cinco in Syracuse, NY. I usually get something on tap there but nothing was calling my name. The meal, however, was goddamn great: soft shell crab soft tacos w/ beans & rice.

I wasn't sure what I was going to have today until I went to see "Prometheus" at the Arclight Cinemas in Thousand Oaks, CA. What does that movie have to do with my choice? Nothing really, but I was wearing a RR "Pliny the Elder" t-shirt as I was waiting in line for the concession stand. Anyway, as I was waiting, a dude came up to me all excited and said, "Pliny the Elder! and shook my hand. After he left, my girlfriend was perplexed and asked, "What was that about?" To which I replied, "Beer advocacy at its best."

So to the fellow beer lover who went out of his way to say, "Right on!" I'm hoisting a pint of Pliny. Cheers!
