Total wine put out 2013 about the time the 2014 was due out. I bought a bunch, then bought some 2014. I'll be doing a side by side as well.

You know those mornings when the sun peeks in through the window after a restful night of sleep, you yawn and stretch, get out of bed and make some coffee, read the newspaper and all is good in the world?


This was not one of those mornings in our house.










It was chaos... giving way to more chaos.












Finally got the kids to settle down by bribing them with unlimited iPad time.


Daddy needs a beer.

Thanks for turning me onto Glenn Miller. I just bought a 50 song collection of his on Itunes as a result of you posting this. Despite my affinity for Iron Maiden, there's something about this early 40's big band stuff that I love. I think it's because I'm a drummer and the stuff these guys were doing behind the kits has been ripped off for years. Thanks for connecting me with this. And good luck at work today, put a beer in the fridge for when you get back!

Last night's bottle share with @tulpenhiney - too toasted to post any pics last night

 

Last night I went to a local brewery that opened a couple of months ago I had yet to check out, Barreled Souls, to sample a few beers. They are conveniently located right down the street from Maine's only IMAX theater which is about a 20 drive for me. We go to about 3 IMAX movies a year so I'll be sure to stop in after a movie from now on.

Started with a 4 oz pour of Rosalita, a 4 % abv blonde ale fermented with agave nectar and hibiscus.




MEmosa, a 6% abv blonde ale with orange zest and dry hopped with Sorachi Ace.




Paper Planes, a tropical 8.9% abv DIPA with Amarillo and Mosaic and dry hopped with Mosaic.




An 8 oz pour of MC AM. They mentioned this one just went on tap on fb yesterday and this is the beer that got me to finally go to the brewery. It's 7.6% abv Porter with cinnamon, bacon, and bacon fat washed cold brew coffee. I'm all about coffee porters and stouts to I had really high expectations for this one considering the addition of cinnamon and bacon. It was really sweet from the cinnamon and slightly smokey from the bacon. The cinnamon and bacon were present in both aroma and flavor but I didn't detect any coffee at all. It was a good beer that left me disappointed with the lack of coffee.




I was going to stop after that but everyone was ordering Space Gose so I decided to give it a try. A 4.9% abv Gose with coriander, Maine sea salt, and lemon zest.




I brought home some glassware and a 32 oz growler of Dubbel Shot, which I'm drinking now. It's a 6.5% abv Belgian Dubbel with Maine Coast Roast's Wood Island Blend coffee. This is the first Belgian beer with coffee I've ever had and it's really nice.

 

Getting pumped for the day ahead!

 

I could drink a few of these.

 

Can't say much for the beer but I always enjoy seeing your food!
