Nope - 'cause I only bought one bottle due to the inflated price.

I don't know if anyone in the Portland area is looking for this, but yesterday there were some 4-packs at Whole Foods. They were selling them for $16.49. It didn't look like there was any limit on how much you could buy.

In case anyone is interested, there's a local convenience store that has three 4-packs in their fridge.

$24.99...needless to say, they're still there. Did I win the highest price found for this beer? WTF?!?

Winooski Bevie sold out 40 cases the day they arrived. I found a four pack in a little convenience store out on Grand Isle. It's great beer. I had the first batch too, but that was many months ago, so can't remember to compare, but this batch is excellent.

Very oniony type IPA, honestly wasnt a big fan. Prefer the more tropical hop IPA's.

this is a dis that makes sense. "not as good as others," "not worth the price," while i agree those are subjective, they misstate how excellent this year's double dose is.

oniony? yeah, this is a dank / pungent / summit hoppy type beer. definitely not for all tastes. if that's your thing though, it's really way above average.

It definitely had a slight dank note but I don't think it was too oniony/earthy/piney. Personally for me it was the mouthfeel that set it off. Not on par with Triple Sunshine but definitely syrupy hop candy. Obviously there's some room for improvement but for a [somewhat] widely distributed DIPA it doesn't get better than this.

I hear you. I'm afraid though that as long as the perception in the distribution/retail channels is that the craft market is still expanding, the highly rated limited releases will be subject to overpricing by some, especially when distributors or retailers are hounded with calls about when some particular thing will be in, and then they see it fly off the shelves in no time when it arrives, or all of their allotment is reserved by locals before it even arrives. $25/4 or $7/1 may be outrageous (I thought $10/2 was outrageous when I bought my first bottles of DD in NH last year), especially if like in this case the brewers' stated intention is that it sell for $14-15/4. But there's still a little Capitalism left in this country, and the name of that game is supply and demand. And one might argue that the retailer who puts DD out for $25/4 is performing an availability service for those who have the cash and don't mind paying the price. Of course that ought to be weighed against customer relations too.

It's worth noting that there are major taste differences between the growler/keg and the bottled versions of this release. The growler tastes a lot closer to what I remember from last year's bottles. Maybe the bottling process affected the flavor?

I balked at $15.99 for Double Dose. This is at Wealthy Living in South Burlington.

I wish it was in cans or bombers instead.

Having a glass on draft at Doherty's in Warwick right now. Glad I'm having this one serving rather than chase a 4-pack because I enjoy it but it's actually somewhat bitter for my tastes (never thought I'd say that sentence!).

Found some singles for $6 each. I got one because I really want try it but no matter how good it is I can't make it a habit to buy such an expensive brew.
