If beer were lower in alcohol, how many of you guys are actually going to be sitting there all day drinking beer. Drunk or not, my bladder is only so big.

I like the buzz. Alcohol is a drug, plain and simple. As long as you're not creating poor health, either mental or physical, and it doesn't interfere with your personal relationships or work. Enjoy. Indulge.

Then again I'm still very young. I'm sure many of the posters mentioning that they would prefer the same tasting beers with 0% ABV are older and have gotten it out of their system years ago, or never had it in the first place.

I honestly love the taste of beer. And I'll readily admit that some days the buzz is VERY welcome. Other days it would be great to have an NA that was comparable in flavor to your favorite 6%-19% brew.

Friday and Saturday, buzz is good. Weekday, buzz is bad.

If it wasn't for the buzz, Beer would not exist.

Personally, I only drink beer. I love love love the taste. We have wine and liquor in our house that I just don't care for.

Sometimes, it would be nice to have a beer or two without the buzz. Sometimes.

A tasty beer is like a full time job you enjoy with the buzz being the paycheck.

Now I love my job, but I sure as hell don't work for free.

You know there is a universal time tested proven method of emptying a bladder, no?

It's pretty simple. If you're reading this you like more than just the buzz. You're into craft beer. You are paying a lot more for beer that gets you just as drunk as cheap Milwaukee's Best crap.

With that said I rather drink 3 bombers of 10% high rated stouts than try and force down a 12 pack of crappy Miller Lite. At this point in my life I'm more into taste and enjoyment of what I'm drinking than of the end result.

It's all part of the experience. The "I love beer but don't want to feel drunk/buzzed" and "I only drink 1.7 beers a week" posts drive me crazy. This is Beer Advocate, for peet's sake.

Buzz is not important to me, if i could get the full flavor and taste with out the buzz i would probably be obese from all the beer i would be drinking. Thats not to say i hate the buzz though.

I find it funny how many on this site "don't drink for a buzz" or think "people who drink 1-3 drinks a night are harsh alcoholics"

Denial ain't just some river in Egypt:wink:

And to think of all the time and money I've wasted reviewing 930 unique beers when I could have just been drinking Everclear and Coke.

I like the taste of rootbeer, but I don't crack open a bottle of it to relax after a long day at work.

Well not completely, but that is a major factor, and it also prevents me from drinking (spending) too much

The buzz is in no way the reason I drink beer, or even one I really consider. The OP put it very well to start it off. Cue the detractors to try to convince me that I'm lying.
Really, though. It's not as though I mind it, but I'm a grown-ass adult with adult responsibilities. I'll drink more on a weekend, but feeling sick and incapacitating myself isn't a spectacular benefit. You do what you do, it's no business of mine.
To be fair, I do like to get that warming feeling. I'm also fine with one or two beers at a time, though.
No, I'm not talking two 750s.

I'll parrot those saying that it is a factor but not the only one. There are certainly times when it would be nice not to be effected.

The Buzz, is icing on the cake when you are drinking a tasty crafted brew. I can drink a case of Adjunct bullshit and get a buzz, but when it comes to a beer you truly love and is made well, you have to appreciate the Buzz!

It depends on the day really. If it's been a long day and I want to unwind, getting a buzz on is fantastic. If I'm judging a beer competition and I have 10 beers still to go, getting a buzz on is fantastic. If I'm...wait, no, the buzz is always fantastic. Getting hammered drunk is another story, If all I wanted was to fall down in a pool of my own vomit at the end of the day, whiskey works every time. Luckily, I love beer and I have to work pretty hard to get drunk from the average beer. I love the taste, the smell, the process of brewing it, and that buzz at the end is the proverbial icing on the cake. Not to read too much in to things, but I'm pretty sure everything good in life should leave you with a nice, warm fuzzy feeling. If it doesn't, then what's the point?
