Sure, that's entirely possible, and probably true. Nevertheless, I personally prefer the 12 oz format for a bunch of reasons.

    Howdy.

Thanks, all, for the props on our two canned beers - Flower Child IPA and Remain In Light. We are very proud of both of these beers and we're glad you all seem to like them.

We are not canning beers such as Great Pumpkin Ale, but not because they are so successful in their current packaging.

Believe it or not, cans are extremely expensive. To make the slightest break in pricing we need to order by the truckload - and then pay for storage. While I'd be psyched to enjoy a 12oz can of our Pumpkin, or Sgt. Pepper, or others for that matter, we would need to be able to make loads more of this beer than we do.

An additional believe-it-or-not, is our margins (already small compared to our distributor and retailer friends) are even smaller on cans than on 22's. It's just not profitable, especially when we price our beer to the distributor hoping to hit what we think is a very fair price point on the retail shelves. We haven't really done more than break even on the cans we have put out so far, due to high art charges and big orders placed up front.

To can the Great Pumpkin Ale we would need to brew and sell a ton more than we do. Considering we hand wash, chop, scoop, and shred the local pumpkins for each batch, there's no way we could make it work, unless we just toss in puree and rush to be first to market. That's never been our "MO" and it never will be.

As for cans of sours, barrel aged beers, and Brett beers, all I can say is that I have those same dreams sometimes.

We have just brewed our next batch of Flower Child, which should be out by 10/31.

Next week we brew another batch of Remain In Light, which should be out six weeks later around Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the support, gang, and stay tuned!

    Cheers,
    Will

Oh shucks. I guess I'll have to drop in on Sunday afternoon for a beer or three...

    Thanks, Will.
So both of these will remain (yeah! ) as year-round offerings or they're sorta seasonal and will be replaced by something else?

Hopefully I'll see the next round of FC. Last round never made it to my local shelves.

    Thanks, guys.
We have scheduled our 2015 production for the two canned beers. While they are not necessarily meant to be year-round, availability will be considerably increased.
    Cheers!

Agreed on 20 to 1. A great beer. Disagree on the food. My wife and I both had different burgers there a week ago and they were mediocre. CBC used to have one of my favorite burgers, big and beefy. This was like something you'd get at Wendy's. Still one of my favorite places, but the burger was a real let down.

Buffalo tenders, pear flatbread, brussel sprouts with curry, amd that crispy duck thing were all great. ymmv (:

Very nice, I agree! I couldn't really detect the squash, but I thought the beer was delicious. And for the record, I've never had a bad meal there.

For the record, it was the first bad meal I've had there. I've recommended the burger to people for years, was really disappointed that they apparently changed it. Still love the place, I'll just stick to the flatbreads I guess.
