What beers have you seen at shops that you now regret not buying and wish you had a chance to go back and purchase?

When I lived in NY I would see MBC Lunch, Mo, and Peeper regularly and passed on them every time. I had never heard of MBC at that time and didn't know what I was missing out on. Also recently passed on a bottle of Velvet Merkin for $20.

I passed on Jacks Abby Framinghammer a few times (when I was in CT near Mass). Reallllllly hope I can find some this winter now that I know better. Also, I passed on MBC beers all the time too, specifically MO and peeper (all I always thought it said pepper so that turned me off).

Probably Xocoveza recently. I kept saying I would go pick some up in a couple days and never went out and got it! I'm sure I can still find some if I looked hard enough though.

Can't say many I've passed knowingly. Though the amount of times I've been in the presence of amazing beers and didn't even know is probably high.

I fear the same, regret not getting a bomber of Black Butte XXI couple weeks ago in SLC. I had a XXVI recently so would've been interesting to see what 5 years does to it. Got a Parabola though so broke even on that stop I guess.

Stone Smoked Porter w/ Vanilla Bean. usually I buy everything Stone on sight, but that day I was already buying a ton of other stuff and figured I'd grab it next trip. Naturally, it disappeared in the interim.

Drie Fonteinen Schaerbeekse Kriek. The $35 price tag scared the crap out of me. Should have bought a couple of them.

Have you had MBC's Another One while you were in NY?

Still having nightmares about only grabbing one of the shelf full of FW XXVII. Also missed out on snagging multiple Even More Jesus. I'll be more careful next time.

I regret passing on a bottle of Bourbon Biscotti Break. I really liked all the variants, yet at the bar 60 dollars a Bomber seemed a bit steep. Well hopefully one day.

Loons back before I knew what they were and thought $25-35 was too much for a bottle of beer. Golden Blend a lot of times (still out there at some places, but even knowing about it, $27 is a lot for a 375ml). Assassin in 2012 when I hadn't quite gotten on board with TG yet and thought $25 was steep. New Glarus Golden Ale since I thought it was just another blonde, not the Orval riff that if was going for. Not buying a case of Wild Sour or Enigma is another NG regret.

I'm sure there are more, but I don't wanna know.

I keep looking at the $11.99 bottle of Thomas Hardy 1999 and think to myself "I don't know if I should", but I know that when they are gone, i'll kick my own ass.

Many replies here involve price. I've always had a rough $/oz limit as a consumer, but that limit has gone up and up over the years as I've become more numb to the cost of admission. Be proud of those past passes. I can't say that I'm particularly wiser as a consumer now.

I've passed on 120 minute a number of times and then it became harder to find. I never pass on it now.

Case of 2009 Bourbon County bombers...just couldn't pull the trigger. Now that I have drank the last of the 4 I did buy, I really wish I had gone all out. Definitely some Cantillon and 3F on my list too from when it was readily available on shelves.

A bottle of Rare. I was new to the scene and didn't know what I was looking at beyond the $45 price tag. I shook my head at the price and bought some Summit EPA. I'm still shaking my head but for a different reason.

I don't usually pass on anything that I see that I really want. But like CassinoNorth, I have overlooked my share of good stuff because I did not know what I was seeing at the time. I have also passed on some stuff because sometimes, enough is enough! (storage ya know)

When Bourbon County Coffee was first released, I was passing through Chicago on the way to Dark Lord Day. Went in to a Binny's and there's cases and cases of it on display, no bottle limits. At that time regular Bourbon County was kind of a shelf turd, multiple vintages of it just sat on the shelf at my local store, so I didn't think much of it. My friend loaded up on it and had to talk me in to buying one bottle. It was awesome of course and I wished I had bought more of it.

I could have gotten Rare on a trip to Chicago a few years ago and also passed because of the price, I think they wanted $50. Then I had some at a bottle share a while later and it was really damn good. Even looking at it now though, $50 is a lot for a bottle. Hard to say if I really regret it or not.

Cantillon Gueze. Saw a bottle once at the liquor store and didn't know what is was. Then I found this website. Haven't seen it since.
