If this topic's been discussed ad nauseam please forgive-- I did a forum search-- honest!

Whenever I pour a brew-- especially a fave-- I notice lately that the bottom of the glass comes upon me far too quickly. This leads me to my question-- how quickly to you tank a beer? Do you savor the pint.. drink with a touch of lethargy-- 'till the libation goes flat? Do you guzzle with abandon-- bottoms up! Do you relish the tasting experience? So what's your drinking style?

    Depends on the brew.

I as well tend to drink mine too fast, even when trying to savor the most wonderful beer with sips. Also noticed my brother does the same thing, even faster sometimes!

The only real exception is high abv or rich beers like an RIS. A bottle of Old Rasputin will take me around an hour to finish.

It depends on the style of beer obviously but I usually try to take 45 mins to an hour to see how the beer changes over different temperatures. However, if I'm at a bar that's a different story, those tend to go down a lot quicker.

You don't guzzle craft brew. You guzzle Budweiser. I used to guzzle in my high school and college days.

Now that I am a little older, I like to take my time, enjoy, and appreciate the good stuff.

    Peace be with you.

This is probably going to be nearly everyone's answer, I'd wager.

Breakfast Stout is going slow for me.

Brown Bottle Pilsener Urquell I pour two at a time into a nice tall glass or stein.

    Most certainly.

I can take down a Heady in 0.6 minutes, while really any big barleywine or stout, as you noted, will be a slower sipper.

I'm a slow paced drinker these days. Choice of beverage and drinking situation does tilt the scale up and back some, but never to the point of shotgunning cans of Pabst in the parking lot. (anymore)

Depends on the style mostly. Also, am I tasting for the first time, or just drinking it. Am I having my brew with food?

I would say the average single IPA, session IPA, Pils, wheat or lager doesn't last very long for me overall. 15 minutes tops. I tend to kill IPAs with food. Something about a Swami's, Sculpin, 2HA or Sumpin Sumpin just tastes friggin' amazing with food. The average imperial stout, imperial IPA, barleywine or even normal stout/porter would last anywhere from 25-45 minutes.

A 12 oz stout usually takes me an hour to drink, especially if i really like it. An IPA is probably half that time.

A bomber of anything is at least an hour to an hour and a half. I like to enjoy it as long as possible

    Really depends on beer/mood/etc...

22oz BBA stout @ 11 pm? an hour, easy. Crisp IPA at 4pm? 20 minutes... etc.

We always joke about our dog that he never savors anything and that he immediately inhales anything we give him. I suppose I am a bit like him since most IPAs and the such are gone within 20 minutes, too often quicker than that.

This. It depends. Big, bold, high ABV beers (RIS, quad, DIPA) tend to go down slowly - 45 to 60 minutes is common. DIPA is a bit of an anomaly/dilemma though, since I like to drink those pretty cold, but can't drink them too fast because, honestly, I don't like catching a mean buzz from a single beer. For me, catching a big buzz early in a session can ruin the session. Around 30 minutes would be more common for a DIPA.

Pretty much everything else is cashed in about 20 minutes.
