I think I had a hint from my possible sender a long time ago, seems they have been MIA for a while. That being said I haven't really been keeping track either.

Box arrived in Madison today. Or should I say boxes arrived in Madison today:

    From left to right:
    The Sixth Glass
    Dark Truth Stout x 2
    Wake-n-Bake x 2
    Bourbon County Brand Stout
    Baked Pumpkin Ale
    Fegley's Bourbon Barrel Aged Insidious
Cape May Sweet Stout (64oz growler!)
    Victory at Sea
    Coconut Mudbank Milk Stout
    Punkuccino (coffee pumpkin!)
Imperial Eclipse Stout - Evan Williams (!)
A Night to End All Dawns (!!)
    Small Batch Barrel-Aged Tripel Horse
    Black Ops
    Leon (s'mores!)
    LaGrave
    Sawyer's Swap
    Sweet Baby Jesus x 2
    Schlafly Pumpkin Ale
    Prairie Bomb
    Devil's Reach
    The Angel's Share - Bourbon Barrel-Aged (!)

    In front:
    Cape May church key
Cape May peanut brittle x 2
    Cape May snifter

By my count that's 24 bottles and a 64oz growler, containing roughly 432 ounces of brewed goodness.

In short, @jawas nailed it, delivering an incredible array of beer, very well-matched to the likes/dislikes of yours truly, with a great mix of tasty favorites (many of which I've been really wanting to try!) and intriguing new brews.

I'd say I'm so looking forward to this weekend, but I strongly suspect some of this beer is never going to make it to the weekend...:slight_smile::slight_smile:

(The bananas foster Cape May peanut brittle is already half gone.)

Holy bananas! my target is most likely getting a 3rd box now.... jawas knocked it clear out of the stadium.

I am getting nervous, hopefully everything I sent makes it ok. My boxes as of 11:59 have arrived in my targets home state, and are on track to be delivered tomorrow!

LOL I count 4 beers that are actually local to you @jawas ... wth?? Seriously, that's a pretty nice box, with a few really choice bottles in there.

    Damn... Huge...

I guess I'll be headed back to the store tomorrow.

If only my target would update his Chicago wants so that I could include a few more locals that he'd like to try... Local Option, Revolution, Pig Minds, Pipeworks, Wild Onion, Half Acre, Metropolitan, Lake Effect, Only Child, Off Color... So many brewers to choose from, so little space left in the box(es...).

Box made it to Hagerstown for it's journey west. These crab chips will be bringing joy to a Great Lake bordering state ...

Glad everything made it there safely, when I was stalking your history on BA, I noticed you tried to join the Stout BIF Round 3 and missed the cut off, and since I had a special issue in my Round 3, I took a few of my extra "undrinkable beers" and sent them to you.

@Lehighace06 "LOL I count 4 beers that are actually local to you @@jawas ... wth?? Seriously, that's a pretty nice box, with a few really choice bottles in there."

The Locals are CMB Growler, Devil's Reach, Sawyer Swap, Kane ANTEAD, River Horse BA Triple (1/800), Than since SNJ is really apart of Philly, Neshaminy Brew's, Troegs, DuClaw. Boulevard just got into NJ, but I cheated and picked up thise brews in MD, and the rest were wants/out of his distribution. So its a few more than 4 that I think of as local. Than I just gave him the rest of the "3rd box" from the Stout BIF. Just didn't want anyone sending anymore beers back. Wait is that too soon to joke about.

I generally consider anything within a 2-3 hour ride as "local", so basically anything brewed between downstate NY & DC and west to say Harrisburg or so... LOL

There's a box with a spring loaded-tongue out for delivery in KY...

I'm just bustin' balls, my box is going to look rather similar in terms of being "local-ish". And of course you're right that it's 5, I forgot to count the growler. That said, I grant you that SNJ is an extension of "Philly" ... but Troegs is from "Harrisburg" and DuClaw is from "Maryland" :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue:

And yes, too soon.... j/k, I damn near made the same joke myself, but I figured it was less appropriate for me to do it than you.

Feel like I'm missing a story here. Sounds like something went down in the Stouts BIF...

I think locals can loosely be defined as "I can get it and you can't" -- most of the local places to me are relatively small and/or don't bottle at all, but I get really good distribution and if I send something from NJ or Massachusetts to someone across the country that works. On the other hand, Southern Tier is relatively local to me, but they distribute so widely I would probably tend NOT to send much of their stuff anywhere.

And I knew a lot of folks would go over the "maximum", but 432 ounces? I stalked some other BIF's (especially for people who were joining ours this round), and think that's typical behavior for @jawas. I admit I went much higher than I originally planned (but that's because I could hit a lot of wants easily) this round, but tend to think this is an exception for me.

Perhaps an idea for the next "mini" round of the BIF is to just send two local growlers and nothing else. That would be a way to keep it really local for the most part.

But, I don't see any problem sending things brewed in other states that are a) delicious, b) a want, c) both a and b.

Actually, a growler round (based on ounces I think, as opposed to growlers) would be fun. For larger growlers, I'm still a little paranoid about leakage so even if I mixed growlers and other stuff I'd tend to keep the growlers separate. Also, I think one of the inputs would have to be "is it worth shipping you a 64 oz growler or won't you be able to drink it fast enough?"
