The reason Lag sells so well is price. It's the reason I buy their beer on occasion. Something hoppy and inexpensive, I'm sold.

Has there been any word on the amount of these boxes to be made, or what regions will be receiving distribution?

It is BA Arrogant along with Arrogant, Double and Lukcy. Saw a sales sheet on it today.

I think its going to be $22-24.99 I will just get it from Costco or the craftcentric grocery stores for a handful of dollars less. Or just pick up a couple Lukcys.

WI is a great beer market but we are used to some of the lowest prices for alcohol in any form the US has to offer if your beers aren't priced competitively most people will pass on them. Oskar Blues, Ale Smith, The Bruery all sit on the shelf not because the quality is lacking but the price is too much for most Wisconsinites to justify. Hell we had Golden Blend sitting in stores for who knows how long. We have a high tolerance for booze but not if its over priced. When I am traveling I'm amazed at what people pay for common beers on a regular basis in other places compared to what I pay normally.

I do think we see some prices affecting sales, but I don't think that's the case with Alesmith. They put out very competitively priced bombers of IPA, ESB, XPA, and Nut Brown. None ever really took over the past year except that much higher priced Speedway, which I think is selling on reputation and to FIBs who don't get it yet.

I think there is a complex relationship between beer education, a region's buying history (I'm talking decades), and each individual person's tastes. Wisconsin is still learning how to not by American Adjunct Lagers. New Glarus is proof of this, as is Capital, Wisconsin Brewing, and really Lakefront, too. They all built their breweries on the fact that Wisconsinites are historically an old world lager drinking bunch. It's been changing slowly over the past ten years but there is still quite a bit of craft beer growth (both in sales and education) that is going to happen.

Stone could really push that growth forward. They cover the full range of ale styles, they brew a quality product available in 6-packs (because let's face it, "foreign" bombers don't sell well here), and they are marketing geniuses. Their beer isn't as extreme as it once was, sounds cool when it's being ordered, and is available plenty fresh.

I'm guessing $25-30. Standard AB tends to run about $5 around here, and the other three I usually see between $8 and $10.

Wonder if it's going to be 100% BBA or a 25-50% blend with something else like Oaked AB.

It's going to be a blend just like Oaked AB from what I've read.

Here is the information on this Arrogant Box set. And yes, the Bourbon Barrel-Aged AB is going to be a blend of Barrel Aged and non-Barrel Aged. No specifics on the blending percentages of each?

    Arrogant Bastard Box
One Box. Four Bastards. Endless Arrogance.

Rounding up a bunch of Bastards can be difficult, so we did the hard work for you. But beware: This much flavor and Arrogance packed into four bottles is not for the timid! This Bastardly quartet brings together the brew that started it all, its much bigger brother, a multi-Bastard blend and a barrel-aged newcomer.

    ONE BOTTLE OF:
    • Arrogant Bastard Ale
    • 2014 Double Bastard Ale
    • 2014 Lukcy Basartd Ale
    • 2014 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard Ale – EXCLUSIVE TO THIS 4-PACK

That is awesome, I can't wait. I think the 4-pack is a good way to keep the individual bottle price low and still ensure that it doesn't all get hoarded by a small group of people.

I wonder how many retailers will split up these boxes and sell the BA Arrogant Bastard at a massively inflated price? I hope that doesn't happen, but I'm sure it will.
