Every year, the darkness chalice has the font of the previous years darkness logo.

Yes, tons will see distro.

Yes, it will see "limited" distro this year. I say limited because with a little foot work, it is easy to get a bunch.

When do they actually hand wristbands out? As you walk in on saturday or at some other time

 

Early AM saturday, a short while after daybreak

 

...and the bullhorn. I don't know about anyone else, but there are years I've wanted to take a shotgun to that thing blaring after drinking into the wee hours.

 

Last year I went solo because well my friends suck. I slept in my 10 year old brothers tent and definitely underestimated how small it was compared to me. They blew that fuckin bullhorn, I jumped and the tent collapsed on me and I got all sorts of tangled in it.

 

I seem to recall that they were still some @ 11:30. I know they year before my buddy got there at 11:00 and got a band.

 

My brother, his now wife, and I have camped out over night for the last 5 years now.

This year, he's in a cast and I have a illness that won't go away. We may finally cave and try to show up in the AM rather than camping. I'm a little disappointed. But, assuming I get some bottles, I'll be up to 6 years, so that lessens the sting.

 

What's everyone's best estimate for the arrival time of the people who've gotten the last of the bracelets? Not when the last bracelets were given out, but when the people who got them got there by. (Or were those times the same?)

 

Last year, I saw people walking up just as we were being admitted toward the end of the pack entering when the event/bottle sale actually kicked off. They still got bands.

 

I'm not sure how stupid this may or may not be to ask, but.... How could I find a group to go with? I moved recently, and all the friends I have that are into beer enough to go are too far away. Not overnight, but maybe 5-6am or something?

 

The amazing thing about the craft beer community is that it is easy to make friends. I say go and just mingle with the people in the line with you.

Not sure when I am going to show up in the morning yet, but I'd be happy to meet up in line if times worked.

 

A couple of things learned from the last couple of years-

- Lock the doors on the Prius before turning in for the night.
- Darkness = death farts.
- Do not throw your spent coals in the dumpster!
- I am sure there is more to add- Looking forward to next weekend!

Only 30%? I thought the majority is given out at DD.

Also, some of the folks at Darkness Day don't quite have that friendliness that I know a lot of us do. All I had to go off was appearance and maybe a few seconds of conversation while walking past them, but last year (my first DD) I noticed a fair amount of "tough"-looking guys with leather jackets and tons of tattoos. That's absolutely not to say that they wouldn't be friendly/hospitable if I approached them in line. I just don't want to make the mistake of trying to talk to someone I shouldn't.

What time do sales typically start in the morning? I just saw last allotments is around 230pm, but didn't see a start time listed.
