11:00 should be the first wave. I think someone asked the question earlier in this thread, you can search for it and double check. Pretty sure 11 is correct though.

Starts at 11 and goes in 30 minute increments. I was in the first wave and decided to grab a Darkness to drink while I waited in line and I didn't have it half gone before I got my allotment. The rest of the day I was mostly in front of the stage and there was never a line until they sold what was left to those without tickets.

I was 1:30 or 2 PM last year and it took 10 minutes at most, very efficient lines every year I have attended.

It has probably been mentioned, but CASH ONLY...which contributes to the short wait times.

Super excited for my fourth year of camping out at Surly. I'll be getting there right at 3:30 just because this is the greatest bottle share on Earth. More excited for the share than for the Darkness honestly, though I am very excited for BA Darkness. I think it's safe to say for first timers that if you arrive in the early AM Saturday you will still have a pretty good chance of getting a wristband. That's how it's been most years if I remember correctly and it seems every year there's more wristbands and more Darkness. As mentioned earlier, due to the space between groups in line it always looks like there are more people in line than there actually are.

Again, did I mention I'm super excited for Friday?

Looking to carpool with any BAs from Iowa (or further South passing through IA), as my friend is unable to go. Can drive/ride from either Southern IA, Iowa City/CR or possibly DSM. BM me if interested in leaving Friday, camp, back late Saturday.

I love that beer, and I love you for bringing it. Please fly a "Don't Mess With Texas" flag high or flash Hook 'em Horns to help those looking for the best IPA in Texas find it's juicy deliciousness.

The leathered up guys with skull tats are sweethearts as long as you share your beer. It's the yuppies that may clonk you on the head and eat your leg if you wander too far from your spot in line.

Let me talk to my friends and I'll get back to you through PM. We're leaving from Des Moines Friday early afternoon but not sure if we're coming back Saturday night or Sunday.

They're nice but make sure your bottles are secure when handling them. I even hold the bottom to support the weight just in case. Broken bottles = No Darkness :slight_frown: We don't want that!

The first 2 years I went to Darkness Day I went with complete strangers that I found on this board. One of the guys was responsible for the infamous dumpster fire. Some of those strangers that I went with back then are still my friends to this day (not the dumpster fire guy). I've also met a lot of cool people while bottle sharing in line that I still keep in contact with. You shouldn't have a hard time meeting people at all as long as you're not an asshole.

For those of you who aren't armchair meteorologists with multiple weather-related sites bookmarked, looks like unpleasantly warm weather setting in Friday evening.

    Friday: Sunny, 64
    Friday Night: Partly Cloudy, 44
    Saturday: Sunny, 63
Saturday Night: Who Cares...Who the Hell's Going to be Awake For That?

A warm Friday evening means more people, no doubt.
