I know for a fact that Pipeworks will be there again this year and they are going to bring their Over the Line barrel aged Hey Careful Man. I am pretty sure they will also be bringing their barrel aged pastrami on rye, but I can't say for certain about that one.

pipeworks is participating according to Bobby a few weeks ago. I'd expect we'll see a certain 25 year old barrell offering from them.

Perennial and Begyle have confirmed their attendance and what they're bringing when I spoke with them last, and of course GI will be there. Fingers crossed that Toppling Goliath will make it this year.

Would love for TG to make an appearance. Never had any of their stuff and this would be sweet!

That is tragic news. But I think I'll quickly be able to get over it with _______ barrel aged beer.

While I hope they bring some new stuff, I would also be ecstatic if they bring Blueberry Flanders again. That stuff was amazing! It was really nice last year when I'd say 65% of the people didn't know about the sour room or didn't care to venture back there, made for some extremely short lines to get some awesome stuff.

Flanders is good but that fuzzy is just ridiculous. Im hoping he brings more of his other stuff. I have yet to have a bad side project beer.

I've never been to FOBAB. I was wondering the size of the pours? Are they same for all beers or adjusted for different styles or abv?

Rest assured they're Chicago sized pours.

Good. I will be a first timer as well and had heard horror stories from GABF of scary lin s for 1oz pours.

Also, are the booths strict about taking drink tickets or do you get to try more than the 15?

From my experience last year some pourers took tickets and some didn't but, no, you shouldn't have a problem with running out.

I'm assuming the stories you read were very isolated incidents. Pours at Great American Beer Fest were 1oz, as they are every year. Most lines were not bad. You could get 2 Assassin pours in about 15 minutes if you wanted. Where as at FoBAB, if you wanted BA Abraxas and weren't in at the front of the line at the beginning of the session, it was probably a solid 20-30 minute wait through a snaking line for one pour.

Go where the lines aren't. You'll find plenty of delicious, memorable beers without the whale lines

This is exactly the way I roll. So many good beers that you shouldn't wait longer than a couple minutes for at the most. I always have extra tickets at the end as well.
