    However, it's 48 degrees and raining, which leads me to Plan B, drinking beer.

    It rained for most of the day yesterday and it's looking like today will be the same. Might go see The Book of Life, and not just because Barreled Souls Brewing Company is less that a minute away from the movie theater. Honest. :wink:

    Smuttynose Smuttlabs White IPA. I picked this up when we went to the brewery Saturday. It was bottled on 08/16 and I wish I could have tried it fresh. The hops have faded at this point and it just tastes like a Witbier. It's still good, just not worth the price of being a limited release at this point. It's going well with my scrambled eggs.

    Thought I would compare these two black ales for science! The initial appearance is that the Founders DP is darker and has much more head. The first taste of the DP is very hoppy, yet the malt finish balances this beer quite well. Just the right amount of sweetness. The FW Wookey has only slight hoppiness but the malt backbone is huge. Tastes of roasted malts and carmel come through along with a sweet aftertaste almost like a barleywine. I love a hoppy brew, but in a dark ale the maltyness of the Wookey just seems to please the palette a little better.

    WINNER: Wookey Jack by a small margin! I LOVE SCIENCE!

    Day 3, and this growler still has a little bit of life left in it. Time to kill it off.

    Beer'd Roulette Russian Imperial Stout aged on espresso beans. Cold, black coffee in a coffee mug. The little remaining carbonation doesn't make it any worse after a pancake brunch. :wink:
