Hop Hunter IPA is the first beer to feature oil from wet hops steam distilled directly in the field, minutes after harvest. We use his pure, powerful hop essence in concert with whole-cone hops in our brew kettle and in our Hop Torpedo to create the ultimate IPA experience.

Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA will be available in 12oz bottles in 2015.

    Style: IPA
    Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
    Arrival: TBA, 2015

    6.2% ABV, 70 IBUS

Text says 70, but the label says 60. Either way I'm intrigued.

Can't wait to try this. Based on everything else SN does, I'm sure it will be extremely high quality.

I look forward to Hunting this down in 2015

Always like the quality and value SN brings in wide available beers, so this could be new good addition to the IPA staples

Like others, I deeply appreciate Sierra Nevada, their products and their business plan and loyally purchase many of their products so please forgive me but ........ "steam distilled hop oil, gathered right in the hop fields" sounds a little gimicky.

Although I'm sure the beer will be quite worthy.

My only quandary with the new brew is what glassware will get the first pour.

    A) Is this replacing Ruthless Rye?
    B) Is this going to be just average like Flipside, Boomerang, Snow Wit, Nooner etc and taste like every other Sierra Nevada beer?

    I hope not.

Yeah I second that. Getting beer canned is a huge plus. It got me to start buying New Belgium's Ranger IPA again.

So if this is the same hop hunter they had at the brewery about six months ago, it is really good. My only problem was they wouldn't fill my growler with it

Hmmm...hop oil fracking. SN pullin' out all the hop stops. Don't want to hype it up too much, but I'll bet it's gonna be pretty damn good.

If it's fresh from the hop harvest why does it not come out until 2015.
