I did a trade with a guy on here that was an absolute nightmare. I'll post the conversation logs from here, email and text messages if anyone is interested. Suffice to say, this trader lied and delayed for a significant period of time. After weeks and weeks of pestering and finally giving up, he finally surprised me by delivering my beer. He included a bunch of extras (albeit mostly three-month-old I/PAs), so I felt the gesture bumped him up from the deserved "Negative" feedback to "Okay" feedback provided I explain the horrendous experience in the comments. I also felt that since he did come through eventually, negative feedback--while appropriate--might have been an unfair representation since the trade ultimately got done. I left him this feedback nine weeks ago. Last week, he leaves me okay feedback with this comment: "Wanted to give good feedback but just matching my okay feedback given" I shipped promptly, included good extras, demonstrated incredible patience in dealing with this guy, and otherwise did everything to earn positive feedback. tl;dr: How do I dispute feedback and/or have it removed?
From his feedback, it was clear that @BubbaMitchell 's experience was good, but he decided NOT to leave a good feedback, actually reflecting his experience, but instead based off @Skrypt's experience of his end. While it's not a "negative" feedback, it's clearly retaliatory and his words admitted as much.
I'd give him a chance to respond and correct the feedback to what it actually should be. If not, then ban him.
With all the warnings and pretty clear rules, it is amazing that anybody tries retaliatory practices. So juvenile.
Even if they did, in the case, he may not think this was retaliatory since it's not a "negative" feedback. He's definitely in the wrong, with or without an explanation, but I think he can use a 2nd chance if he rectifies his mistake.
Oh I agree. I wasn't going against your earlier comments or trying to defend him, it was just a general comment that I think way to many people blow by the stickied rules post and don't read it. Bah - Edited for typo! Too much coffee today probably.
Thanks for the thread @Skrypt and your input @Todd . Being a great trader is more than just getting great beer from Point A to Point B. It is equally about a trader's word and reputation. If he's done this twice already, why let him do it again?
To clarify: He's been warned about violating the trading rules twice, which means he should be aware of the rules and how things work.
I hope what I posted didn't come across as critical. Everyone deserves a chance. It sounds like he has some disregard for the rules here. Especially since you've warned him twice.
Time for him to go. Retaliatory, false feedback is not cool at all. This kind of behavior undermines the whole feedback process as people then become afraid to leave legitimate bad feedback. Well done mods to demonstrate this behavior will not be tolerated and will result in ban. People are not afraid to leave bad feedback because the system and mods have their back when the truth is on their side.
OK. Feedback for both parties has been removed. User banned with reason why. False feedback undermines the system. He should've just taken his lumps. Trade on.
