Hey guys, quick advice needed. There's a Firestone Walker event in the UK on Sunday and I'm limited to 2 bottles. You literally cannot get them in the UK anywhere. Here are the choices: Opal, Double Jack, Wookey Jack and XVII. Suggestions ?

Agree, the anniversary (XVII) is the best one out there, but if you haven't tried ANY, I would give the Double Jack a second thought, especially if it's fresh.

    What he said.

While the others are solid beers, XVII is a whole different level.

If you can check the bottling date on the Double Jack and Wookey Jack, get the fresher of the two. And of course the other should be the XVII

Depends on the freshness of Wookey Jack (should be bottle dated). If it's still relatively fresh, go for one of those and the XVII otherwise, go with 2 XVII

True, I was hasty, thanks @GeorgiaBeerGuy . If you haven't had any I'd consider DJ as the other, but my concern was freshness and why I didn't include it in the first place.

Beers will be Fresh, Firestone are bringing them theirselves. Kegs are only 3 days old so I'm hoping the bottles are much the same. Thinking a DJ and a XVII

    Thanks guys :grinning:

XVII for sure. As far as other FW beers are concerned, there really isn't a bad one in the bunch, so whatever else you get can't be too bad!

If Double Jack is fresh, grab a bottle, it's excellent. And XVII of course, unless you don't like barrel-aged beers. Opal is delicious too.

In addition to buying bottles, will they have samples there available for you to try? If that is the case, I would try them all and buy two bottles of the XVII which seems like the consensus. I personally liked that anniversary year better fresh, but even aged, it is still really damn good.

While I love all FW beers I'd have to go with XVII since it was only brewed once and is an amazing beer. If two XVII aren't an option I'd go with XVII and DJ.

I would go DJ and XVII as well. A fresh west coast double IPA is probably more rare than a blended barrel aged ale over there.

70 is the new number now? Not two months?

If you know what kegs will be there, people here might be able to fine tune their bottle suggestions.

You want a tip? Take along someone who doesn't like beer and get their two bottles, too!

XXII and a Double Jack, only if its reasonably fresh, if not double up on the former. FW makes great brews across the board.
