I had one ticket taken from the two sessions I was at last year. About halfway through the last session I didn't see a ticket taken by anyone. I've poured at other events where they are adamant about taking tix. But every year could change, especially with heading to a new event space (even though it's still in the same city). Think we'll only know when things get started, which I can't wait for.

Not sure about friday, but I know on Thursday Smallbar is having a pre-foBab party, which is also their final night open.

I was wondering what the line to get in situation is. Is it worth it to get there early ? How fast do some of the beers run out?

The popular stuff (BCBS variants, BA Abraxas, FFF, Side Project, etc.) last about an hour or so. Most stuff doesn't kick at all.

There's so much great beer at FOBAB that you shouldn't worry about what runs out. If something kicks, just go to the next interesting thing on the list.

Local Option usually has some ridiculous shit on tap, used to be the Friday before but who know's now with the Friday session. I would monitor their FB/twitter/website for details.

Haymarket usually has some stuff, again used to be the Friday before...

And then Smallbar as mentioned. I imagine they will be selling some crazy shit that day.

Northdown is planning on Pre-FoBaB party, the Baller Barrel Aged Beer Bash. Details TBD, but those folks usually put on some pretty cool events.
Note: This event is Thursday evening, 11/13.

Talked to one of the brewers at Revolution today, the brewpub is bringing two draft only things; a barrel aged imperial working woman and something else. The taproom is bringing straight jacket from the last batch that is STILL in barrels. So it'll be something like 16 month bourbon barrel aged by the time they keg it a week before fobab.

So I've got a problem. I bought 4 tickets for the Saturday afternoon session and I have a few in my group that got blindsided by an early family thanksgiving on Saturday.

These guys won't be able to attend anything on Saturday as they'll be in southern IL for the family gathering. Is anyone looking to part with Friday tickets? Either trade or straight up selling tix?

You might have better luck in the ticket forum…. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/beer-tickets.62/

Speaking of the ticket forum... Can anyone explain why there seems to be a lot more demand for sessions 1 & 2, than session 3? I get session 1 to some degree if you're IMBIBE and get another hour. But it's not like they're going to run out of beer right? I thought I read somewhere that they were supposed to bring enough to last all 3 sessions. As a session 3 ticket holder, do I have something to be concerned about?

Nothing to worry about, they allocate the same amount of beer for every session.

I'll be honest, one of the reasons I'm an IMBIBE member is for FoBAB. The other is support of legislation is Springfield.
