With a suggested retail price of $34.99 how many craft beer drinkers will this attract? Will you be trying it? Why or why not?

$35 seems fair for an amber from a giant brewing conglomerate... There's probably a market for this beer, but it ain't me.

Looks like $35 retail bomber from Guinness, I would have no plans on trying based on description I found on web. Plenty of great beers that are not "luxury" items

Do you mean $17.59, or $1,759? And what is Guinness 1759, anyway?

EDIT: after further research, I'd rather buy the FES; that's the only "ultra-premium" beer that I'll ever buy from guinness.

Maybe if it was $1.75 I would try it

Yeah this, beer sounds like a terrible idea. $30+ for an Amber as the above poster said.

According to the press release, a 25 oz bottle is approximately 4 servings. That's news to me.

Probably not. I love beer but I don't have that kind of disposable funds. If someone offers me a taste I will try it.

No, and I wouldn't even pay $5 for it. They didn't even bother barrel aging it before charging $35.

Ah yes, a limited edition of 90,000 bottles.

Bottle looks nice, well done to their hundreds strong marketing dept on getting that right

No thank you. It will be interesting to see what the early BA tasters have to say about it.

You're comparing a Dry Irish Stout to aggressive (Russian) Imperial Stouts though. Guinness FES is one of the best stouts (all styles of stout) on the market IMO, but I don't get this move, $35 for a non-BA bomber ... must be lights out stuff, or a poor attempt at gimmick.

So, exactly what IS is? The descriptions are vague. Surely it can't be a run-of-the-mill amber in a bomber they're 5x overcharging for...can it?

What makes this "premium"? The diacetyl...er, "rich butterscotch aroma"? The limited [sic] run of 90,000 beers?

The PR for this product is terrible.

I don't know that I would pay 34.99 for a 22 of anything. For that price I could get 16 bottles of Nosferatu. No Amber is worth that much.

At 9% it's no "run-of-the-mill" Amber, but here's some more info on which to judge your purchase:
    http://www.brewbound.com/news/guinness-introduces-limited-edition-the-1759-amber-ale

    Personally... I can't drop $35 for a 25.4 oz. bottle -- comes to about $16.50 for 12 ounces.
