Arrogant Bastard Box Set

Why was the regular Arrogant Bastard aged in bourbon rather than the double? ABV limits?

 

I think someone said that the BBA double AB is called southern charred and is being released on it's own. There's a thread on it a few posts down

 

Visited the Cost Co in Arlington this morning. The Box Set is not there, but they had a great deal; $29 for a mixed case of Victory (Prima, Golden Monkey, Hop Devil & Headwaters). Or you could buy the Corona Lite for $25 a case

 

My local place in KY didn't get any. Plenty of Xocoveza left though.

 

It probably spent limited time in barrels and it's also a blend of barrel aged and non barrel aged beer. The barrel character that comes through would likely be more subdued in a Double Bastard version compared to the regular.

 

Has anyone seen this box set in SE MI?

 

Found DB and Lucky here in Dallas but no box sets.

 

Where did you find one at?

 

Completely forgot about this when I was at Costco Yesterday. Same thing happened when they had Beer Camp box set.

 

Applejack yesterday. They had a fair amount.

I know it was at Grapevine last week and I haven't seen it at Mile High yet.

Just spoke to the guy at my local store, said they don't get the set until X-Mas time?? Can anyone else from NY attest to that?

What are people's thoughts on the Bourbon Barrel Bastard in this set?

 

Is it even over 8% ABV?

 

Anyone who bought this have any fine-print info from the label about blending percentages? Wouldn't that be legally required info?
