I understand the frustration but I can not think of any brewer/owner who cares about everyone more than Chase Healey. Sounds like Easy Tiger didn't think it though enough. That happens. Hopefully, this was a learning experience for them. If it continues or that was enough for you. You can make a choice based on your experience. WTF!....wasn't there but if it was that important to you....you should of hit that line first. Prairie Artisan is a small brewery. They can only make so much beer. It is not their fault that it tastes so damn good that we act like crack heads sometimes. That is unfair and unreasonable to lay at the feet of Chase and Colin. We don't always get what we want in this world but that inspires more appreciation when we do. They will continue to grow and make more beer in good time. There is always another great beer to drink. There will always be another great Prairie beer to enjoy! Long live Standard!!!

Lastly, it is sad shitting on someone's beer online. I understand not liking a beer. There are plenty that I do not care for. Discuss with your friends in a context your friends understand is appropriate. Online...it is like saying something looks wrong with someone's child. Drinking beers you don't like only gives you a greater appreciation for the beers you do like.

true...if you are paying a substantial amount of money for someone's child. Otherwise, it is nothing like that.

$6 or $20 doesn't matter. you have a choice. these beers are their children. imagine spending 120 hours at your job on something you believe in with your heart only to have a stranger pass by and say you did it all wrong. out of context and hurtful. just learn from your experience and make a better decision.....for yourself.

Agreed with what you said, until not being able to make negative comments about a beer... I feel like that discussion is the whole point of this site. Not every child is special (and get off my lawn!), and I'm sure they appreciate the feedback... How can anyone improve if everyone just tells them how great they are?

I love almost everything Prairie does, but this is just silly. This is a forum to discuss beer. Pretty sure almost every craft brewery spends a ridiculous amount of hours trying to perfect their beers and pours their entire heart into it and feels a strong attachment to them. This forum would be pretty terrible if people only posted positive comments about beers.

why be negative about beers? do not spend your money on them then. this all sounds like buyer's remorse. what happened to the golden rule. beer ADVOCATE. just because a beer doesn't live up to your expectation. people feel the need to talk a beer down. this forum can be pretty horrible. i stay off it for the most part but if people feel like taking assassin shots at Prairie. they don't know Prairie. i will take an exception to that. not sure if gopokes is for or against what i am saying but i think i support his opinion except the last sentence. it gets out of hand. especially on this particular thread.

There is a tactful way to say you don't like a beer but once you start attacking said brewery/brewer it then can get ridiculous.

that is a valid point. very valid. if everyone blew them up with praise it could have a negative effect. the other side to that would be.....don't buy it. shelf turds get much more attention. the thing that BA's don't understand is that you are probably ten percent of those who buy beer maybe more with niche breweries like Prairie. this whole forum is in a small bubble that feels much larger than the purchasing power or influence than it actually has. that said, it is a minority that is given more credit than deserved. might get some shit for that but it is true.

i think the majority of BA's get it. it is the ten percent of the ten percent that get me fired up.

I think most of the complaints have been about the way the event was help and not on the beer itself.

I am sure the beer is good (I have yet to have it), but the events have been shit shows.

Hey Matt I'm pretty sure everyone quit reading your posts. I, too, agreed with your first one. Prairie is kick ass. They're beers are top notch. Sure they had their run in with some QC issues but that should warrant everyone who had a problem bringing it up here (Chase used to participate on the boards) and to Prairie directly. If you don't then you're wasting hard earned money. About the price, who cares. Like you said, spend it or don't. And for the events, blame can go either way. We don't know if the bar ordered enough or were told only 1 slim. Who knows. But to say people shouldn't talk bad about beer...wut

I enjoy Prairie beers alot, but I'll be damned if I go to anything ever at Quickie Pickie again. The blatant price gouging of that store on limited items puts them on my naughty list along with the flag store and other "friendly" bars.

I really appreciate your enthusiasm for Prairie and other breweries in general. But this site is pretty much about talking about beer. Good beer, bad beer, all beer. It is a discussion board. There is a lot of great beer that is not ever talked about. Does that mean it's not worth trying to you because you don't hear positive things about it?

I personally like to hear about bad beer because it helps aid in my decision to buy it or not (there is just too much beer to buy). Not so much reviews from strangers, but from the people I know here and know their taste. I trust those people.

In this case, no one is really bashing BA Bomb!. If anything it was about the event itself and the fact that they did not bring enough of this good beer for people to try. I think that is a valid complaint and worth mentioning to them because the WHOLE reason we came out was to try it. I can go to Easy Tiger anytime. They should have known that tweeting about it weeks in advance would create hype and that a certain demand needs to be met because of it. Otherwise, the consequence is upset Prairie customers.

I appreciate your opinion, but this is America, and the idea that I should not be able to voice my well thought out opinion about beer (or anything) I spend my hard earned money on just because it might hurt their feelings is ridiculous. If someone cannot take valid criticism (or even a contrary opinion) about a product they produce and sell, then they are in the wrong business, regardless of how much time they spend on it.

Having said that, I am a big fan of the vast majority of Prairie's beers, and my comments above have nothing to do with the beer in the subject of this post.
