Dang, snow flurries already? That sucks.

October in Houston is very nice. Spending some time outside tonight before the candy beggers come a knockin. We just won't talk about the summers....

Starting the evening out right. Improper glassware but this tulip has quickly become my favorite. It's a 16oz glass so easily holds a 12oz bottle with enough room to get my big old snozzle in there to take some wiffs.

@mbmiche has been dropping bombs on me all week, culminating with the final package today. Pics incoming!

I'm not ready for it yet. The snow flakes are huge now. Not sticking but really big. It's 34* out now but back to the mid 50's next week. I'm hoping to get another round or two of golf in before the weather gets really bad. My dad used to live outside of Houston and he always said how great fall and spring were.

@mbmiche absolutely killed it and made my first BIF experience an amazing one. He worked wonders with my very limited Local wants and hit me with a lot of awesome stuff I had heard of and a lot that I haven't. The generosity of folks in the beer community is mind blowing. Expect to see me stick around here for a while! lol

    Anyway, here's the pr0n

Brewery Swag - Half Acre Shirt, Mug, and Stickers. Love it, started collecting brewery shirts and the design on this one is awesome and blue is my favorite color

Treat - Not one, but TWO Lou Malnati's Chicago Deep Dish pizzas!! Could have stopped the boxes here and it would have been worth it. I loved Lou Malnati's last time I went to Chicago and its awesome to experience that again. Also, Chicago deep-dish pizza in Los Angeles sucks :stuck_out_tongue:

Half Acre Heyoka IPA - Looking forward to this one, the reviews look very promising
Revolution Unsessionable IPA - :O dem reviews
Off Color Apex Predator - Have heard a lot about the brewery, haven't tried any of their beers yet
Against the Grain London Balling - hmmmm, Barleywine
    Founders Breakfast Stout - permawant
Founders Dark Penance - Have loved everything I've had from Founders, must.tick.them.all
Founders Harvest Ale - See above, must try
3F Yumyum - Haven't had much from 3F so looking forward to this
Central Waters Stout - Can't wait
    3F Gumballhead - More 3F :grinning:
Dark Matter Morning Wood - Never had a coffee amber, sounds interesting

Against the Grain Bo & Luke - Yesssssssssssssssss, have wanted to try this one
Central Waters La Petite Mort - Been on the look out for CW stuff, looking forward to this
Cahoots Amen Barelywine - Love me some barleywines
Hoppin Frog Barrel Aged D.O.R.I.S. - Another yessssssssssssssssss
New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red - permawant and with good timing, might pop this open with some Halloween chocolates
Pipeworks Abduction - Not sure if I had this as a want, but I should have!
Pipeworks Cherry Truffle Abduction - I'm a sucker for variants
Pipeworks Passion Abduction - Another variant  Going to have to get the guys together and drink them all at once

Half Acre Lager Town - Looking forward to experiencing some quality Lagers
3F Broo Doo - More 3F :grinning: Couldn't help but laugh at the label
3F Deadnaught - Definitely should have been a want, have heard a lot about this one
    3F Munsterfest - Yep, more 3F
Revolution Brewing Straight Jacket - Yessssssssss. Had my first beer from these series a couple weeks ago, it was amazing. Looking forward to what they do with a Barleywine
Revolution Brewing Gravedigger Billy - See above, awesome

I'm super happy with this haul. Now... where do I start

I saw those in my area, so hopefully I'll see Tweak too!!! And if I can get my hands on quantity, I'll help out.

Had a couple lunchtime beers, but I'm starting off my post-kids evening with something very seasonal... nothing like a liquid Reese's cup to get into the spirit

I didn't know those are "local"!!! I would absolutely have sent these! In fact, if my target OR my sender (fuck it, anyone involved in this round that is out of the production area) wants some of these, BM me your address and I'll send a box (max 2, preference to target/sender, otherwise first come). SO good. Same goes for Peanut Chews, though I knew those were local.

I actually tried to put Peanut Chews into my target's box, but the CVS I went to at 10pm the night I sealed up the box doesn't carry them.... hopefully my target will like his treats anyway, or will BM me that he wants some Peanut Chews and/or Irvin's so he can get some, with a flat rate USPS box it'll be no problem.

Also this. I recommend hot apple cider over cold (even at the cost of it being 'hard' cider), preferably with a cinnamon stick hangin out in there.

We can talk about the summers for a second... In Philadelphia, summers are generally in the 80s and 90s, with humidity % the same or higher. I go to Houston for a business trip in early July, I figure "it's not going to be any cooler for sure, but at least it'll be drier, no need to drink the air" .... WRONG. Houston, being on the gulf, is just as damn humid. I loved my trip and the city anyway (largely thanks to those I spent my time with) but damn if it wasn't just as sticky as home.

You should definitely look forward to that La Petit Mort, it's fantastic. Generally an absolutely fantastic box, a great reminder of why I need to take care of my Chicagoland trading partners/BIF brothers.

We'll if redirecting my boxes from @_RL_ to a fedex store to hold until I get back into town wasn't torture enough, my problems are compounded by the fact that I'm stuck in the middle of TX wine country for a wedding in which no beer can be served.

I did however grab a few bottles to bring and am starting pumpkin beer season off with a Pumpkinator now that it's below 90 degrees outside. Cheers boys!

I am just catching up on this thread tonight, and managing to restrain myself from commenting, except for this... Goldenberg's Peanut Chews are the most underrated candy of all time!

Braaaaaains, so tasty! Finished off the night with BA Narwhal, so damned tasty! This was after Green Man Toad the Wet Man and New Belgium Salted Chocolate Stout. BA Narwhal! Did not expect that in my distro area at all.

VBS Entry #2... I kinda hate Stella Artois, but I give them credit that their glass is a great shape/size for a 16oz can.

Jeez, packing up the box tonight and realized there was a beer that I planned on including that wasn't on my spreadsheet, so its going to be a tight fit... I'm going to try and make it work target!

That's what she said! Seriously, this is what happened to me, only I had all the beers right from the outset, and completely unreasonable expectations about what fits in a normal sized box.

I'm shipping in bottle shippers since I have some extras around, so I really didn't have a good excuse
