Thanks for the kind words of unnecessary praise, amigo, but you don't owe me squat. Your appreciation is all the reward I need. Cheers!

Came home one day after being out of town and found a box from @Droopy487

For a minute, I had a mini panic attack. I thought I had forgot to ship out a box as a part of a trade, but it was a "thank you" box that he sent for no other reason than to just say thanks! Inside, a bottle of Black Tuesday. My all time favorite beer. I was speechless. Thanks again man! Site needs more people like you!

I think your thank you trumps mine.

Folks, here is @pluchar gift. A fine example of a beer advocate.

I try to track down at least one of every Shorts bottled beer. In fact I joined beer advocate in July 2012 trying to track down some Aww Jeah. Looking at the hads I saw that @FINEBEERGUY had some. I sent him a bm asking if he would trade some to me. When he figured out I didn't have any of his wants he offered to just give me a 6 pack. He threw in a pliny and a jai alai as "extras" on this one sided "trade", both beers that seemed legendary and impossibly out of reach at the time. What an introduction to the craft beer community... Benefitting from his generosity up front really affected me and the way I try to approach trading.

@Justdoit1234 hooked me up with a box of local goods out of the blue for no reason and didn't want anything in return. Fantastic guy and a great trader!

Oh boy, I am reticent to name names out of fear of forgetting somebody but…

I want to take advantage of this thread to thank the following folks for the generosity they have shown me. The list in no particular order: @rotsaruch, @KOP_Beer_OUtlet, @Hop-Droppen-Roll, @TongoRad, @premierpro, @hopfenunmaltz, @boddhitree, @jesskidden, @tjseveryday, @MMAJYK, @jRocco2021 and @spartan1979 .

Let me make my apologies in advance to anybody who I have been negligent in mentioning.

The BA community has many, many wonderful folks!!

    Cheers to the BA community!

Ya know how some people have "Do not trade lists"? This thread just became the start of the opposite of that for me. I now have a "trade with" checklist.

Aside from the numerous BA's that have shown their generosity by sending me beer, there have also been members that were generous with their homebrewing knowledge. @JackHorzempa has been extremely helpful to me over the years, serving as my internet-based mentor in all things beer making. Salute Jack!

My second trade ever on BA was with @kbhess and he sent me a Consecration, Temptation, and Framboise for a Cure as extras. And then he sent me like 4 other great bottles too. All as extras. On top of what was already a generous trade. He's awesome, and propelled me to be as generous as possible when trading going forward.

Earlier this year, I was trying to obtain some Pliny via trade for my brother's wedding. Out of nowhere, a fellow BA sends me a note asking for my address. A week later, three fresh bottles arrived with a note that read "Congratulations!"

I have had the most fun on this site. You do meet some cool people on this site and some assholes too:rolling_eyes:. I have had my porches blown up for no reason, well one was for my Birthday, from all these BAs: @twizzard, @spicoli00, @utopiajane, @SomethingClever, Adam, @woemad, @GetMeAnIPA, @MisSigsFan.

Then beers given to me (for free) from hand to hand goes to @gillagorilla and @wiscokid920. I also think @jzeilinger should be put on this list too, he had to see me in public, that's enough torture in itself....

Cheers to my fellow generous Beer Advocates!

Just a few people who have been more than generous in a variety of ways and certainly not a complete list.

    Cheers guys!

Oh shit almost for got this guy @xxcarpxx (where ever he went) for starting the Autumns Army LIF probably on of the single most generous things Ive seen and fortunately got to be apart of. He raised money to help Autumn get her dog back and ended up with enough to help her pay some medical bills from her chemo. He raised around $5,000 for Autumn.

Good lord, I also am afraid I will miss naming some of the kind folks with this, so many people have displayed such great generosity. I won't name any of them, but will share a story that says all that needs saying.

A few years back I had it made in the shade. After we lost our contract at the recycling center I was out of work and desperately taking any jobs I could get. Finally landed a great job in audio visual, making good money, and trading quite a bit, buying a lot of good beer, traveling when possible to beer events. Then I got laid off from that job, and within 5 months of that I got lyme disease, I had to sue my bitch wife for divorce, and my Mom died. I mailed all my trade partners to let them know I would not be trading anymore, and explained why. I gotta tell you, what showed up on my porch after that defies exaggeration. So much fine beer came into my life by folks who insisted I not pay back, with good wishes for my future, and the greatest outpouring of affection, that it honestly helped me to take the view that things aren't so bad, things will get better. It made me feel positive at a time when I was feeling as low as low gets. There just are no words to express how great an influence it was to help me to get back on my feet.

This says nothing about all the other generosity I have been shown along the way.

We argue here, and act all this way and that, but the BA community is the most generous bunch of folks you ever will meet. Thanks to all of you, you know who you are. I would name you but really don't want to miss naming anyone. Thank you all, and Cheers!

@TasterMike once gave me a bottle of Duet just because I was bitching about crystal malt, and @Shroud0fdoom gave me a bottle of KBS for...no reason, really.

Don't worry Nate...next weekend, I have a bottle of something nice with your name on it :grinning:
