I have been shown more generosity than I deserve by a number of BAs - however one instance stands out. I had posted some time ago that my goal for the year was to finally try a BBPT5 - out of nowhere @Strohsbeforehoes asked for my address via BM and sent me a bottle. Asked for nothing in return...blew me away and I've been trying to pay it forward since. Also biding my time for the chance to surprise him back - one day. I've never forgotten that.

@Duff27 sent me a King Henry for no particular reason.

Basically every bottle share/tasting/drink-beast-fest I've been to...

Within a month of signing up for the site, @Onizilla asked for my address and sent me my first Duvel, along with a curious mini Goose Island nonic pint sampler, and a SN pint glass (which has since been gifted to a friend that needed glasses for his new apartment). I have met so many kind and generous people in this community so far. I'm gonna have to pass it forward in a more visible way sometime soon. Keep an eye out for an ISO: Shipping Label.

Oh yeah, today is my birthday! I'm gonna have to stick something exciting in the fridge, like Dog A, from my first trade, which was with @Kreko7. Yes, I still haven't opened it yet.

    Just to highlight some:
    @DrBier, @Shroud0fdoom, @alexk307, @CaptFrothy, @_RL_, @northstar23, anybody that I've traded with, and the countless people that aren't on BA.

I need to attend one of these, "drink-beast-fest."

It's always a question of timing for me, and I often need to figure out something to bring, as I often have a very small cellar :sunglasses:

Tastings vary, but it's a great opportunity to try something you may not get a chance at. and its fun!

I'll nominate @LambicKing. Ryan is a standup guy, and his generosity is far and beyond ridiculous. Hoping he enjoys what I gave him as much as I know I'll enjoy what he left me.

When Black Note was released this year, I was dying to get some because I missed out on trying it back when I first had access to Bell's beers in 2011 (missed out in '12 and '13 because I was in areas that didn't get Bell's distro). This year, I knew which shop in town would get an allocation but spaced on checking their FB page until a day after they posted that they had some. I called the next day and, sure enough, none left. Since I was bummed, I posted on the "Your White Whale" thread that Black Note was presently my White Whale since I've had two opportunities to try it and lost out both times. @mjshearer1 messages me out of the blue without either of us ever talking to each other prior to that and tells me he'll send me some. I of course tell him he doesn't have to do that but he insists and drops a porch bomb of a case of 12 oz. excellent beers including '13 KBS, BBA Pt5, Zombie Dust, Odd Side rarities and obviously a couple of Black Notes. It took me a couple months, but I of course returned the favor by sending him a box of Wicked Weed and Hop Drop n Roll. He's an upstanding individual indeed.

@MOVERTON1284 is a great person. He porch bombs me often and I try to return the favor every time. I think we don't trade anymore...it's more of a surprise game now. LOL.

We knew each other from our previous hobby and I think we were both excited that we each know someone who has a craft beer addiction that we were familiar with already.

here is something I shared with the owner of Beverage Warehouse of Vermont in Winooski who likes to carry around VT beers and share them with people....
"Good deed of the day done. I feel like you passing VT beer out to people. I was at World of Beer in Albany, NY and this guy with a bum leg came in sat down and ordered a mixed 6 pack of IPA's for a birthday present for someone. So I told him wait there for 10 min while I ran my fat ass across the the mall and parking lot (since I park way out) to grab a DIPA (my one I saved out for me tonight) and ran back in to give to him the Heady Topper. I told him about it showed him the BA ratings chart and he told me that his friend's 22 year old son just died and this is his first time out of the house in months and he loves IPAs. I am glad I did the right thing and went and got it for him. I hope I turned someone else onto VT beer. Now I know how you feel every time you share it on your travels."

I will add to @PA-Michigander 's stories of generosity. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had never tried Hill Farmstead and had been "on a quest" to get one, when he offered to send me one just so I could try it.
Since then, I heard many - MANY - other stories about his constant generosity.

I also need to mention @wheelzntoys , who surprised me with some Alpine brews just because I never had any before.

These are amazing people and am glad this thread allows other to know just how awesome they are.

I'd be remiss if left out @mhenson42 who I have an open trade with and just might be the nicest guy I've met yet. Looking forward to the TWO big boxes!
