So here's the deal. I'll be driving up to Hill Farmstead from Philly early Thursday morning (2 am-ish) with the intention of being pretty close to the front of the line and out by 12:30/1....My original plan was to then hit Hunger Mountain right after for that 3pm Heady delivery, but WHOOPS! I slacked and didnt realize the delivery day switched to Thursdays. Somanyfeels.

Anyway, I found a site that lists a bunch of Friday deliveries for Heady but wanted some pro tips from locals or anyone who's made the trip before...will any Heady be left for the taking in the Stowe/Waterbury area (or anywhere between there and HF) by the afternoon say 1/2ish? Or am I SOL if I dont hit the delivery locations in the AM? Any tips on places I should look first over others?

    Help a ticka out!!

Had the same itinerary last month. Hit Green Top Market and Tomlisons in Morrisville. Both have 2 4-pack limits and were well stocked after 1pm.

I live about an hour north of Philly in Jersey, and I left at 6a. If my girl didnt make a pee stop every 5 miles I would've been there close to noon. So you don't have to leave at 2a.

I did this last month. We wanted to get to Hill's before they opened so we wouldn't have to wait long. Got there at 11:45 and had to wait three hours in line. Oops! As for Heady, all of the Morrisville stores were well stocked around 3:30-4 p.m. A lot of places in Stowe were sold out at that time, but we (my fiance and I) ended up getting almost two cases, and we could have got more. Just bring the list of Friday deliveries with you, go to every store on it, and you'll be fine. And check out Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury. They should have some, too (one 4-pack per person limit).

I'll be driving up later on a Friday afternoon / early evening from Boston to Burlington. Any sense of whether any of the places that get Friday deliveries tend to still have any Heady around 6-7pm?

I was just up a few weeks ago on a Friday. Make sure places you highlight are retail shops and not restaurants. Met someone while I was up whose list contained both. Morrisville area is good after HF, Stowe by 2pm was hit or miss but I still got 5 4-packs, and CBC in Waterbury had on Friday night around 7 when I was there. Highly recommend stopping by Lost Nation after your Heady hunt ends. Great beer and food and think they may still have the bottled Gose for sale.

Only place I would think that would have aroudn 6-7 would be CBC in Waterbury.

Cool, thank you for the info. I'll make sure to stop by CBC Waterbury on the way up.

Good info on how late supplies last, but can anyone shed some light on how early/what times deliveries are generally made to some of these stores? Much appreciated.

Not overly reliable information but I believe it starts to hit the area around 11-12.

Also what do the prices range for these places? (not like that will stop anyone from buying, but curious)

This is a good question. I would call them and ask them when the delivery gets in. I would not get their any later than a half hour after it is delivered. This is just my opinion and experience. I took the trip from NYC this summer, and when I got to my destination that had it, they were almost all out and it had only been 45 minutes.

I'm headed up to Burlington from Boston on Friday, October 31. Any suggestions for stops along the way (or not too far out of the way) that might have any Heady or Lawson's left early Friday evening are greatly appreciated. Boo!

Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury is the best bet for Heady. And they have other great stuff, Fair Maiden from Foley Brother, maybe Mastermind from Fiddlehead and of course many others.

Cool, thank you! Alchemist site said they get deliveries on Wednesday, did that change? Either way, looks like a great spot to hit on the way up.

Just trust me...if you get there in the PM. Worth it anyway. You won't find Lawson's most likely in bottles, but the Waterbury pubs (near CBC) will have it and HF on tap.

A quick update from my trip in case it's helpful to others making a similar trip.

First, a huge thank you to @HuskyHawk and @Flashy, both of whom suggested CBC in Waterbury. We got there around 8:30 Friday night after hitting traffic getting out of Boston, and they had plenty of Heady (one four-pack limit per person). We also stopped at Hunger Mountain Coop yesterday afternoon around 4pm looking for Backacre Golden Sour (success!) and I was pleasantly surprised to find Heady there too, on a Sunday no less! One 4-pack per there as well.

So, with basically no chasing, we were able to score four 4-packs of Heady despite not getting to Vermont until late Friday night. I was expecting to come away empty-handed, so am thrilled with the result! Thank you to everyone for the tips and good luck to others making the trip!
