I'm going to start off by saying that I've slowly been building up my glassware collection, marking my different beer trips that I've taken over the past couple years. I accumulated glasses such as a Hill Farmstead wine glass when I went to the brewery this summer, a Hardywood Park GBS glass that I got at the Gingerbread Stout release last year, and a Founder's glass that I bought online. I'm gonna cut right to the chase and say that all of these glasses that I had obtained have broken within the past six months, either by falling on the ground or breaking in the sink. These have been three of my favorite glasses, and they've all broke.

So, my question to you all is, have any of you had terrible luck with your beer glasses breaking all the time? Maybe I should start drinking my beer out of red Solo cups or something. That would be pretty cool if they sold plastic tulip glasses for clumsy people like myself.

I am afraid to answer this question for a fear of the curse extending itself my way !!!

Knock on wood, no, I have not broken any of my most fragile glasses. I seldom use them in favor of just using shaker pints most of the time to help protect the good glasses, but I'll use a goblet, snifter, Teku, etc. occasionally. I use extreme caution when washing them, and they are put back in the display cabinet right away.

Get extras and keep them in the cellar/cupboard, it´s usually easier to buy a 6 pack of glasses.
Your favorite glass always breaks though.

Don't, I repeat, don't put your good glasses in the sink. Don't let your wife wash them. Wash them separately, dry immediately and put away. Hell I even take my rings off when I wash them. Broke one by hitting it with my ring. Good luck

I've seen stainless steel shaker "pints" at a couple of breweries lately!

I've got a pretty deep collection of glassware, ~300, and I've only broken one glass before, and I didn't even break it, my friend did by mistake, so maybe it's you?

i seem to break just hard to replace DLD mini snifters...hunting them down the 2nd time around is often way harder than the first.

Evan, don't you know rare glasses are only for masturbating to at a distance, not for drinking out of?

It's definitely me. I just leave the glasses out instead of putting them away. It's my own fault.

My girlfriend knocked over my Tired Hands wine glass. It had only been used once. So fragile. So fragile.

For some reason, the only glasses I have had break are those that I can't easily replace.
That said, just yesterday I broke my Left Hand Brewing curved "pint" (actually a 12-oz serving fit perfectly in there)
Since I recently moved, and haven't yet unpacked most of my beer glasses, it hurts that much more - it was the only non-imperial pint, non-shaker pint I had found. I would get around to the rest, but other things take a bit more precedence for unpacking - like clothes, kitchen supplies, and whatever SWMBO wants unpacked first.
Heck, I haven't hooked up my guitar amps yet, much less unpacked the guitars....
