Have a tasting set up with a couple buddies of mine and we're trying to think of some quads or beers close to that style that we could add to the lineup. So far its Stickee Monkee, Boulevard BBQ 2013 and 2014, Not the Stoic. Any suggestions?

    Cheers

You gotta go Belgian as well. Rochefort 10, st bernadus 12, etc.

La Trappe Quad is a decent addition to the lineup as well, alongside Rochefort 10 and St. Bernie 12

You plan on only sticking with American Quad? If so, Weyerbacher Blasphemy or Quad and Victory V-12 come to mind

If you want to go the Belgium Route - St Bernardus 12 or Rochefort -10

Try the Americans against the Belgians. You'll notice straight off which are much, much better.

Three philosophers is a must for american made. I recently tried Straffe Hendrick as well, definitely worth adding to the
    lineup.

Rochefort 10 and 3 Philosophers were already mentioned. But now I'm intrigued by the idea of an American/Belgian face-off tasting.

Stickee monkee although delicious, isn't a good representation of a quad. I will echo above and would def go with those Belgium

Appreciate it I was already thinking the Rochefort 10 and the Abt 12, but didn't know of anymore out there that would be nice to throw on the agenda

    My essential Quads list:

    Belgian
    - Westy 12
    - Rochefort 10
    - St. Bernardus Abt 12
    - La Trappe Quad (and Oak Aged La Trappe)
    - De Struise Pannepot, including Reserva, Grand Reserva, Rio Reserva, and St. Amatus

Together, these comprise the "big 5" Belgian quads, IMO. Behind those, you have

    - Kasteel Donker (an absolute fave of mine)
    - Kasteel Cuvee du Chateau
    - Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel (and Straffe Hendrik Heritage)
    - Gulden Draak 9000
    - Urthel Samaranth
    - Val-Dieu Grand Cru
    - Jopen Doubting Thomas
    - Malheur 12

    North American
    - Ommegang Three Philosophers
    - Boulevard The Sixth Glass (and Bourbon Barrel Quad)
    - Allagash Four
    - Lost Abbey Judgment Day
    - Victory V-12
    - Avery Reverend
    - Weyerbacher Quad (and Weyerbacher Blasphemy)
    - Dieu de Ciel Rigor Mortis

Beyond these, some awesome "one offs" that you may still be able to find

    - Sierra Nevada Ovila Quad (original from 2012) and Ovila Quad with Plums (from earlier this year)
    - New Beligum Cascara Quad

And some great quads from my region of the country

    - Three Taverns Quasimodo (and the recently released Heavy Bells)
    - Wild Heaven Eschaton
    - Straight to Ale Hellfire Quad

Love this style! Thrown everyone for a little twist and open up an Oerbier and Oerbier Reserva! My favorites in the style.

Good point. I guess it goes without saying that there's a razor thin line between quads (which are kind of an artificial construct in the first place) and BDSAs. Many BDSAs could pass for quads, particularly Oerbier, Caracole Nostradamus, and Engelszell Gregorius.

Ok, I hate to be the Anti-American Brewer on this, yet I cannot recommend American Commercial Brewers on this list. Goto Belgian Strong Darks for Recommendations.

Nostradamus is a brown ale though.
