In the past, bottles have been available at the brewery for weeks after the initial release. This could change obviously with growing popularity, but I'm not all that concerned since none are being held back for distribution this time around. The release early this year was also 2000 bottles and it covered distribution, the release day, and a supply of bottles at the brewery that could be purchased three weeks after the release.

Believe I saw somewhere that Adam said there were 4,000 bottles of Resolute last year. Not sure about how much regular this year, but I agree that some (regular) should still be around a few weeks after release.

Just found it on our local facebook page in response to the release:
Adam ShifflettYes, sorry guys, resolute is brewery only this year. Also, contrary to what some other threads are saying, last year there were 2 batches for 4,000 bottles, this year only a single batch was made as a result of some buildout at the brewery taking up aging space. We will have 9 new beers on tap on release day to make it well worth folks time to come visit.

    Cheers!

So there were 4,000 bottles last year. Only 2,000 this year (I assume), and if so should last some time at the brewery.

2 batches that totaled 4,000 bottles. Not 4,000 each batch.

    Batch 1 was in 2013 (2,000 bottles). Batch 2 was March 2014 (2,000 bottles).

Never once said 4,000 per batch in either of my posts. Just 4,000 total bottles for the year. Which is exactly what Adam confirmed in that post. Reading comprehension, bro.

You said there were 4,000 bottles last year, which there weren't. There were 2000 last year and 2000 this year already. So technically you're wrong still. Perhaps you should reread what you wrote, bro.

So one of the owners is wrong, when he clearly said there were two batches last year in the Facebook post? You can nitpick all you want, but I'll go by what Adam said.

there have been 3 batches of Resolute so far. b1 in 2013 was cork'n'caged. 2 batches capped in 2014, both at 2000 bottles

There has only been one batch released in 2014 totaling 2,000 bottles. There was one in 2013 that also totaled 2,000 bottles. Batch 3 is the batch that is upcoming in 2 weeks. What Adam is referring to in terms of 4,000 bottles is that in the last year (aka last 12 months, not 2014) there were 2 batches that totaled 4,000 bottles. Not two batches in 2014, but one in October 2013 and one in March 2014. Also, I used to live right by the brewery and am friends with Adam and that's the truth.

Batch 1 = October 2013 at 2,000 bottles (cork and caged)
    Batch 2 = March 2014 at 2,000 bottles (capped)
    Batch 3 = in 2 weeks

So in order to prevent "hoarders" from getting too many bottles, they're going to charge $183 to have a one bottle of each of the three variants? Which just means that if you are a "hoarder" with a fat wallet you can just buy up as much as you want, right? Maybe I'm just dense but I don't follow the logic that this format helps get it to more people. Can someone explain to me how that's a better option than bottle limits or some sort of lottery system?

This is exactly what they are doing. I like Three Brothers brews, and Adam is a great dude, however I'm not a fan at all of how they are handling this release (one of the reasons I won't be attending). The idea is to keep the variants around for a bit (since there aren't many, I've heard estimates of 150 of each variant), but as you said, all this really does it cater to the hoarders with big beer budgets. It also reminds me of the bottle shops who say you can have this special release, but you need to buy a six pack or two of the everyday stuff. Just not a fan of that approach at all. Hopefully it turns out well for them, but having been to many beer releases in the past, the best way I see it is the first come first serve approach (with limits).

I agree, im not a huge fan of this release at all but I will be there. I think they should limit the total number of bottles you are allowed to purchase. With that said though I will be buying one of each variant (hopefully)

Very disappointed that the variants won't be available for individual purchase. No limit 3 packs certainly aren't going to stop the hoarders, so I really don't understand the logic behind that argument. Putting a 1 bottle limit on each variant, and no limit on the original Resolute would make much more sense. More people would get an opportunity to buy (and afford) a bottle of the variants, and the hoarders would still be thrilled to stock up on the original Resolute.

Luckily, I live right down the street, so I will be attending Resolute Day entirely for the awesome draft lineup. More bottles for the rest of you!

Maybe rumor but I heard all the variants will not be available at the same time. In other words they may be released for purchase at different times during the day, not all at noon. Again may just be rumor although I believe the source.

I can see that. Would also go onto the list of how not to run a release. But with low bottle count of each variant, I at least see their thought, though I don't agree with it.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in here really quickly and hopefully answer some questions. Some of the simple things.

    1. You can pick whatever variant you want in your 3 pack, no limits.
    2. You can buy Resolute individual bottles, no limits.
    3. All the prices are with tax included, which means you're getting 3x 750 mL bottles for ~$54 + tax for a total of $60.
    4. We will have the variants on draft available in 5oz or 10oz pours until they are gone.
    5. A total of 1 bourbon barrel of each of the variants was made.
There are a million ways to run a release and I'm sure not a one will please everyone. We decided to go this route simply because as much as anyone wants to say just placing limits is the way to go, there are tons of ways around it and there would be plenty of people unhappy with us if we did it that way too.

If anyone has any questions shoot! I'm more than happy to answer and I certainly hope everyone can at least give this method a chance.

We are certainly willing to hear suggestions based on how it goes this year but I think anyone thats been to a number of releases will admit that what works one place doesn't work other places. I hope everyone that comes out has a great day, please come by and say hi even if you aren't grabbing any bottles.

    Cheers!

    Adam
